The Red Platform team at Red Ventures is looking for a talented and passionate Software Engineer to join our dynamic group. As a key player on our team, you will be instrumental in the development of our next-generation journey optimization platform, a diverse range of front-end and back-end tools that unlock new capabilities for our portfolio of brands within Red Ventures. What You'll Do:

  • Work collaboratively with engineering, analyst, and data science teams to drive value through our platform.
  • Contribute to key architectural decisions
  • Work alongside designers to incorporate designs into front-end application code
  • Build solutions that are high quality, scalable, secure, and maintainable.
  • Incorporate API data into front-end stores and components
  • Active pair-programming with teammates.
  • Participate in formal and informal code and architecture reviews.
  • Collaborate with the product management team and other developers to deliver a quality product that meets business needs.
  • Use a DevOps model, utilizing metrics and monitoring to manage our services.
  • Continually look for opportunities to build value in the codebase: set standards, build tools, and automate jobs to make yourself and your team better and faster.
  • Add to a culture that loves experimentation, Agile development, and intellectual curiosity

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum of 1 year of professional software engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in HTML and an understanding of semantic markup.
  • Proficiency in CSS and modern CSS features: CSS Variables, CSS Grid, etc.
  • Proficiency with JavaScript and a strong understanding of JavaScript fundamentals.
  • Proficiency using VueJS (preferred), React, or similar front-end frameworks/libraries to build front-end applications.
  • Proficiency with NodeJS and NPM.
  • Proficiency using version control software such as Git.
  • Experience using HTTP requests to communicate with external APIs from front-end applications.
  • Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Experience with Database technologies such as MySQL, DynamoDB, etc.
  • Experience with telemetry and monitoring such as New Relic or AWS Cloud Watch.
  • Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
  • Growth Mindset: A relentless desire to learn and improve yourself and your colleagues.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective team collaboration, including the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Even Better:

  • Proficiency with TypeScript.
  • Experience using state management stores to organize and isolate application data (Vuex, Redux)
  • Experience working in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, etc.
  • Familiarity with modern website tech stack architectures. Server-side rendering, server-side generation, server-side components.
  • Familiarity with modern component framework concepts, such as composable functions, asynchronous components, server components, component lifecycle management, reactivity fundamentals.
  • Experience with a CI/CD pipeline (GitHub actions, circleCI).
  • Experience with infrastructure as code such as Terraform.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience and strong opinions with regard to agile methodologies. Inclination to help the team improve our SDLC.

Compensation

USA Compensation Range: $60,000-97,500**Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
