Role: Business Director

Location: London (3 days a week from our London offices)

 

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is an opportunity to join OLIVER's award-winning network as a Business Director, delivering transformative business partnerships and strategic leadership for global financial institutions.

You'll lead comprehensive client relationships that drive both OLIVER and client business growth through bespoke agency solutions. Based in London with hybrid working (3 days in office), you'll be accountable for strategic account management, team leadership, and P&L performance across complex, multi-channel programmes. Your strategic thinking and relationship expertise will ensure OLIVER delivers industry-leading service while identifying opportunities for sustainable growth.

Working at the intersection of business strategy, creative excellence, and operational delivery, you'll translate client challenges into growth opportunities that deliver measurable outcomes for all stakeholders. We're looking for someone who can lead through influence and collaboration, finding innovative solutions that strengthen partnerships while driving commercial success. Success means sustained account growth, exceptional team performance, and clients who see OLIVER as an indispensable strategic partner.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead strategic client relationships as the primary contact, ensuring satisfaction, trust, and long-term partnership value
  • Develop and execute account strategies that achieve both OLIVER and client business objectives
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior client stakeholders, serving as escalation point and collaborative problem-solver
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams, inspiring creativity and excellence
  • Drive P&L management including budget forecasting, growth target setting, and operating income reporting
  • Present performance reports and strategic recommendations that influence client decision-making
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver industry-leading solutions and innovations from OLIVER and Brand Tech Group
  • Design and implement new services or market entries that expand partnership scope
  • Champion process and system improvements that drive efficiency and creative excellence at scale
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and consumer insights, translating them into actionable strategies
  • Ensure OLIVER exceeds service level agreements while maintaining competitive and profitable pricing
  • Lead sustainable practices integration and participate in relevant training and development

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A track record demonstrating 8-10 years of agency experience with 3-5 years in leadership roles, showing proven ability to grow client accounts and implement new services
  • Strategic thinking that connects business objectives to operational delivery through innovative solutions
  • Proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels, from operational teams to C-suite executives
  • Experience leading large teams through complex project delivery and professional development
  • Expertise in P&L management, budget forecasting, and financial planning within agency environments
  • A talent for presenting complex data and strategic recommendations with clarity and impact
  • The ability to negotiate collaborative solutions and resolve service issues with diplomacy and effectiveness
  • An analytical mindset that translates data into actionable strategies and measurable outcomes
  • Experience implementing process and system improvements that deliver results at scale
  • Professional proficiency in marketing tools, platforms, and project management systems
  • Qualifications: Formal degrees are welcome but not required. Equivalent experience counts. Experience can be gained through work, study, volunteering, or self-directed learning.
