Our Opportunity:

Chewy is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst II to join our team in Plantation, FL. This role involves working closely with all Transportation groups, focusing on creating scalable and reliable reporting tools, metrics, and business insights using structured and unstructured data. At Chewy, we emphasize a culture of data-driven decision-making, requiring business intelligence that is timely, accurate, and actionable. The successful candidate will design and implement analytical solutions and technologies to drive actionable recommendations for various partners, measure outcomes from actions taken, and support different business groups in the supply chain space. Key responsibilities include setting business requirements for data pipelines, ensuring data integrity across systems, analyzing large data sets, investigating data anomalies, and developing intuitive data visualizations to extract actionable insights. The candidate will also communicate results with partners, train and mentor other Team Members, develop solutions for complex business problems, and automate manual data processes.

The ideal candidate has strong SQL and data visualization experience, with a proven track record of driving action from business insights. You will operate in a fast-paced environment, working with Transportation operations, finance, procurement, FC operations, global transportation providers, inventory planning, and S&OP. Experience with data analytics and reporting initiatives is important, as is the ability to support foundational operations metrics and reporting used by leadership teams at all levels. What You’ll Do:

  • Develop operational metrics and build solid data products using BI tools and other software.
  • Demonstrate your communication and collaboration skills to partner with collaborators to implement analytic methods, measure outcomes, and drive insight around findings.
  • Own business requirements gathering, design, development, and maintenance of new metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, and business insights within the Transportation organization.
  • Maintain and create logic and reporting tools demonstrating your extensive SQL across the organization. 
  • Create transportation budgets and measure actuals against budgets.
  • Drive data quality standards from visibility providers and carriers to ensure compliance and root cause defects.
  • Use data to understand business objectives, identify defects, and transform insights into clear actions to improve cost and service levels across the network.
  • Build business intellegince tools for transportaiton operations leveraing your visualization expertise in Tableau.

What You’ll Need:

  • Current permanent U.S. work authorization is required
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and Tableau in a business setting.
  • Expertise in Excel, including advanced formulas and macro creation.
  • Experience turning structured and unstructured big data into actionable insights.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree or equivalent experience in data analytics, supply chain, computer science, industrial engineering, information technology, engineering, statistics, business with analytics focus.
  • 2-4 years of related full-time experience in an analyst role working on a business team, preferably in e-commerce or retail industry.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling and performance tuning techniques.
  • Working knowledge of ETL techniques and BI tools (e.g., KNIME, Control M, SSIS, Alteryx) used for data transformation and visualization.
  • Experience in conducting and leading quality control and testing initiatives for work produced by an analytics team.
  • Ability to create frameworks and best practices for Team Members and mentor peers in scalable solutions for data architecture, metrics, and dashboard creation.
  • Demonstrable success in interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques, and communicating findings to business partners across the organization.
  • Experience applying statistical techniques such as hypothesis testing, correlation, classification, regression, and time series forecasting.
  • Experience working with cross-functional partners to define and document requirements for building high-quality and impactful data products.
  • Familiarity with Git, Jira, and Confluence to manage source code and track project development.
  • Experience using machine learning frameworks in R or Python to drive process improvement is a big plus.
  • Position may require travel
