Role Description:
Symphony is seeking a talented Applications Engineer to join our team as part of the Business Operations department. You'd be responsible for providing internal support to all Symphony Departments in the development, implementation and customization of business applications of the company. The role also involves participation in worldwide projects and input in setting business operations policies along with the team. This role is both broad and exciting due to building, supporting and having the technical direction view of internal applications we use.
Responsibilities:
- Developing, troubleshooting, maintaining and enhancing Symphony business applications including Domo, Salesforce.com, Jira, Zendesk, Netsuite, Marketo for business and project needs
- Implementing systems and cloud based business application software for internal clients - this includes gathering business requirements for new internal projects, determining departmental needs and participating in vendor selections
- Providing support to all departments for all the business applications under the Business Operations Team’s view, including resolving critical problems for supported systems and training/educating users on internal applications and deployments for best practices
- Working with end users to troubleshoot and ensure applications meet their needs, including documenting application requirements on development of program enhancements
- Monitor / troubleshoot issues on the systems that prevent development or day-to-day operations
- Coordinating vendor escalations and support for critical issues, acting as a bridge between the vendors' engineering resources and Business Operations team - this may, on occasion, require work outside usual business hours especially during outages and business emergencies
- Keeping abreast of new applications, supported features and functionality, providing recommendations for improvements; whilst updating users and vendor solutions to help enhance our business processes
Required Qualifications:
- Provide solid technical competencies in a full stack environment across computer architecture and design, to backend and frontend application support and development
- Develop in a modern high-level language such as Java and Node.JS (preferred), perhaps you have Python, Javascript, Apex, SQQL additionally
- Know other technologies such as JavaScript, SOAP, REST, JSON, Apex, SOQL
- Support non-relational databases such as MongoDB
- Provide knowledge of security models, access control, permissioning, and sharing rules for supported applications (preferred)
- Learn or share your knowledge of Kubernetes or Docker
