The role

From day one you will be responsible for managing our supplier network while engaging closely with our Product department to build the best meal kit product in the market. Reporting into our Supply Chain Operations & Planning Manager, you will have access to our international procurement team who can support you with deep category knowledge. 

We seek candidates that will bring an analytical, structured and proactive way of working, focused on delivering results in a high-paced environment. Our ideal applicant has experience from a high performance culture environment, ideally in the food/retail industry, and is hungry to take on a challenge and make an impact at a fun, fast-growing, mission-driven meal kit delivery service business.

What you’ll do
  • Be in charge of managing the daily supply of our ingredients to ensure our customers receive high-quality ingredients on time
  • Check in person shipments to ensure the exact quantity and quality of items are delivered
  • Partner with the distribution center and our suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and inventories match demand requirements
  • Assist in researching, identifying and developing relationships with new sources of local suppliers for the company that meet criteria including (but not limited to) price, quantity, quality and timeliness 
  • Manage operational relationships with existing network of suppliers  on a daily basis
  • Analyze purchasing data to ensure accuracy of information, purchasing procedures and identify any discrepancies, etc 
  • Resolve any unforeseen problems with suppliers relating to operations, purchasing or quality/performance quickly and professionally
  • Liaise between procurement and the warehouse/production teams, building strong communication channels for quick resolutions of potential issues
  • Create and maintain purchasing files and price lists, as well as determine if their companies have enough inventory on hand
  • Assemble data relating to supplier performance
  • Assist with cost reporting and invoice validation
What you’ll bring
  • A Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in related field
  • Ideally, experience from a high performance culture environment in the food/retail industry
  • Strong communication skills with ability to explain complexity and build healthy relationships with all relevant stakeholders 
  • Customer-centric and willing to do whatever it takes to satisfy customer needs
  • Detail-oriented with proven ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet time sensitive deadlines everyday
  • Data driven - curious about what insights can be derived from numbers
  • Highly adaptable- you thrive in a fast-paced, high-change and dynamic work environment
  • Proactive, confident in manner and able to deal with a large and complex network of suppliers delivering a large quantity and variety of perishable ingredients.
  • Passionate about our business: a foodie or an operations and problem-solving zealot
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite, specifically Google Sheets
  • English and Italian language proficiency, especially for internal stakeholders communications
  • Driving license needed on occasion
  • Must be flexible to work extra hours and/or weekends (on occasion)
