As the Chief of Staff (CoS) for our Transit, Bikes and Scooters (TBS) team, you will report to the Head of TBS and work closely with leaders within TBS and across Lyft. You are a motivated and adaptable leader and will help our leadership team build a healthy organization, set processes for accountability, and drive critical cross-functional efforts. A successful CoS is neither a ‘shadow’ or a ‘gatekeeper’, but an enabler for increased efficiency, a force multiplier for leadership, and someone who builds strong plans and processes to hold people accountable.
A great candidate will be customer obsessed, demonstrate the ability to work with a variety of stakeholder groups, drive execution of cross-functional initiatives, and have a bias towards over communication. You should be a self-starter, data-driven, incredibly well organized, methodical, flexible and have the ability to develop and maintain strong partnerships within TBS and across the broader Lyft community.
Responsibilities- Strategic planning: Manage the process to set team strategies, OKRs and roadmaps (Product, Ops, Policy, Sales,etc.) as well reporting processes to build a culture of accountability, identification of dependencies and mitigation of risks
- Leadership cadences: Drive and implement improvements to core leadership cadences: meetings, reporting, decision making, review process, offsites, etc.
- Internal communications: Own internal communications for the TBS org, including planning org-wide all hands, supporting Lyft-wide needs, and crafting communications plans to achieve strategic goals
- Org health: Help build a successful and healthy org through the design and execution on improvements to org structure, identification of gaps, and development of solutions while partnering closely with leaders and the People team
- Special projects: Support strategic initiatives through research and analysis, building business cases for new opportunities, and presenting those to executive leadership
- Cross-functional execution: Establish strong relationships and serve as point of contact for collaboration to execute on key initiatives, facilitate decisions, and/or drive alignment
- Executive reviews: Partner with teams prior to executive reviews to ensure that the quality of materials will facilitate thoughtful discussions and decisions
- Headcount and budget management: Work closely with colleagues in Finance and People to drive employee engagement, headcount allocation, budget management, etc.
- Feedback: Maintain a strong pulse and feedback loop on organizational challenges
- 6+ years experience in consulting, finance, operations, and/or product management
- Comfortable setting expectations for team members at all levels and holding others accountable
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and juggle competing critical projects
- Proven track record of leading, managing, and improving internal processes
- Ability to build consensus among cross-functional teams towards achieving goals
- Strong understanding of financial principles in the context of business strategy
- Data fluency - both in leveraging metrics to drive business outcomes and in conceptualizing what we should even be looking for
- A good sounding board for others, with low ego, and ability to anticipate needs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced and high-pressure environment

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Thursdays and a team-specific third day. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year. #Hybrid
The expected base pay range for this position in the New York City area is $128,000 - $190,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
