Client Service & Database Analyst

Position Overview:
As part of StepStone’s Data & Software Engineering (“DSE”) department, the Client Service & Database Analyst / Associate will be responsible for providing support for internal and external stakeholders of StepStone’s technology platform, supporting business development and marketing activities, and helping with data-related requests. The Client Service & Database Analyst / Associate will work closely with other DSE members and all relevant departments to support the Department and Firm at large.
Essential Job Functions:
- Support internal requests and inquiries from StepStone’s investment team and other departments, as well as client requests as needed
- Monitor the department’s shared inbox and actively collaborate with the DSE team to obtain all necessary information required for completion of deliverables
- Update StepStone’s proprietary systems and databases from interactions with internal teams, clients, and prospects
- Develop a deep understanding of StepStone’s tools and applications and relevant programming languages (e.g., SQL)
- Update presentations and marketing materials related to StepStone’s SPI platform
- Assist in marketing and outreach campaigns to clients and prospects related to StepStone’s SPI platform to increase market awareness and capabilities
- Help build out SPI documentation on processes and procedures
- Interact with Salesforce to update client meetings and run business development dashboards
- Remain organized while adjusting to competing demands, aiming to beat rather than meet deadlines
Secondary responsibilities may include:
- Assist in creating and maintaining new and enhanced data-related content for StepStone Benchmarking application and other related deliverables
- Assists with projects, as needed
Skills and Qualifications may include:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or related fields
- 2-3 years’ experience, preferably in private markets or investment management field
- Preference for candidates who have experience working in software development within a private market investment firm
- Experience in data analysis and relevant programming languages (e.g., SQL) preferred
- Advanced knowledge in Excel
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong time management, prioritization, and communication skills
- Promote and demonstrate a positive, team‐oriented attitude
- Highly motivated self-starter who quickly adapts to a fast-changing environment to learn recent technologies and tools
Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000
The salary range is an estimate of pay for this position. Actual pay may vary depending on job-related factors that can include location, education, skill, and experience. The salary range does not include any benefits or other forms of possible compensation that may be available to employees.
