About the job

This position is needed to help drive the ongoing expansion of our regional communications function and amplify the Twilio story to a wide range of audiences from developers to the largest enterprises.

The person in this role will join a growing global communications function, building thought leadership for Twilio, highlighting the astounding innovation being carried out by Twilio’s customers, and engaging audiences with compelling and relevant storylines. Reporting to the International communications director, this position will play a pivotal role in supporting Twilio’s regional go to market strategy, and making Twilio as relevant in APJ as it is in San Francisco.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Define the communications strategy and plan for Singapore, Australia, Japan and other markets in the region
  • Manage Twilio’s PR agency partners to deliver a relevant, impactful and appropriate localised PR programme that supports Twilio’s business objectives and go to market plan
  • Create campaigns and content to drive press and social media programmes
  • Identify, train and support local and regional spokespeople in delivering Twilio’s messaging
  • Work alongside other members of Twilio’s regional and global PR and the wider Corporate Communications teams to ensure target metrics are monitored and met
  • Partner with marketing teams in APJ to create and execute integrated campaign and activity plans
Qualifications

Required:

  • 8 years of technology comms experience, including working in an international communications environment; time spent in-house would be preferred
  • Significant experience across public relations with a solid understanding of social media, analyst relations and internal comms
  • An understanding of the technology and business media landscape across APJ
  • Outstanding written skills, great verbal communication skills
  • The ability to think on your feet, and to digest information quickly to determine the appropriate way forward, breaking through technical jargon to deliver relevant, appropriate and impactful messaging
  • Experience in building surveys, reports, press releases, blogs, messaging documents, social media posts, media commentary/articles, customer stories and other communications campaign content
  • The ability to develop relationships at all levels of an organisation
  • Experience with communications measurement tools and a passion for demonstrating the impact of communications programmes

 

Desired:

  • Additional Asian languages, both spoken and written, would be advantageous
  • Experience in crisis communications, social media and in delivering programmes to reach industry analysts across APJ 

Location 

This role will be remote, and based in Singapore

Approximately 10% travel is anticipated, within APJ and to the US.
