Compensation Analyst

The Compensation Analyst is responsible for conducting research, analyzing data, and developing compensation programs and strategies within an organization. They play a crucial role in ensuring fair and competitive compensation practices to attract, retain, and motivate employees. The Compensation Analyst collaborates with cross functional teams and business stakeholders to update compensation structures and policies that align with the organization's goals and industry benchmarks.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct market research and benchmarking to gather data on compensation trends, practices, and competitive pay rates for various job positions. Analyze and interpret data to evaluate the organization's compensation competitiveness and make recommendations as appropriate.
  • Help design and develop compensation programs, including base pay, variable pay, incentive plans, and benefits. Ensure that compensation programs are aligned with the organization's overall strategy, market competitiveness, and legal requirements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams across Lyft (People, Finance, Legal)
  • Support management and executives on compensation related issues and planning for team members
  • Develop and deliver communication materials to educate employees on the organization's compensation philosophy, programs, and policies. Prepare compensation-related reports and presentations for the People team, stakeholders, and executives to provide insights and recommendations on compensation practices.
  • Assist with maintaining and refining existing compensation processes
Experience:
  • 3+ years of compensation-related experience with a solid understanding of compensation principles, strategies, and practices
  • Strong analytical rigor with the ability to effectively analyze data and create clear and comprehensive reports and recommendations
  • Experience using Excel or Google Sheets to analyze data 
  • Experience leading and influencing across multiple levels of an organization on key compensation topics
  • Experience supporting compensation programs in an  ambiguous , uncertain and rapidly evolving landscape
  • Excellent written and visual communication skills
  • Experience with global compensation programs

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Thursdays and a team-specific third day. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.

The expected base pay range for this position in the  Seattle area is $117,990 - $131,100. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
