About the team:

Luno is a market leading crypto exchange on a mission to put the power of crypto into everyone’s hands, and we are building a market leading Compliance function to support these goals. With regional teams in place across APAC, Africa and Europe, including the UK, we are now looking to complement these capabilities with a Compliance Data Analyst.  We are growing fast, and this is a superb opportunity to make your mark in a truly outstanding organisation.

The role in a nutshell:

  • The Compliance Advisory Data Analyst  will be responsible for analysing and interpreting data contained in our data environment in order to create visibility as to how effective our controls are and innovate new ways of data processing to develop upon our Compliance framework. In addition, this role will be responsible for extracting data for internal and external parties e.g. regulators, supervisory bodies and law enforcement.
Your mission will be:
  • Mine data for insights, test and validate hypotheses about operational controls that impact customer behaviours; 
  • Influence ways of work and the roadmap through presentation of data based recommendations;
  • Validate existing reports, data sets, resolve issues with reports and performance indicators as identified;
  • Innovate and develop new ways of work within the Compliance Advisory team;
  • Develop a clear understanding of the operational intricacies, behaviours and identify improvement opportunities / levers to improve key metrics;
  • Generate regular reports on operational performance and provide insights / recommendations to the Compliance Advisory team;
  • Analyse the success and effectiveness of controls based on data and provide recommendations for potential improvements; 
  • Facilitate the performance improvement of the Compliance Advisory team by identifying data gaps. This must be performed through testing, analysis and recommendations of process changes;
  • Building, developing and improving on data rich models within the Compliance Advisory team;
  • Translate data into business requirement required to support the Compliance Advisory team country Compliance Officers;
  • Developing a reporting framework that will allow us to elicit requirements, analyse data and create visibility for remediations;
  • Responsible for identifying manual processes and converting these processes into an environment that promote and exhibits automation and enhancement; and 
  • Create, report, monitor and maintain visualisation platforms and additional tools / systems governed by Luno.

  • The ability to look at complex Compliance requirements and translate these requirements with the use of data.
