What You’ll Do:
- Serve as a critical technician member of the quality team and as a liaison between operations, quality, and other compounding pharmacy support functions
- Implement corrective measures to ensure smooth operations and prevent recurrence of issues.
- Collaborate with other members of the quality department to effectively track, review, and monitor change control
- Ensure compliance with established protocols and documentation requirements.
- Discard and log destroyed batches as per company procedures.
- Participate in and lead continuous quality improvement activities.
- Conduct routine audits of processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal standards and industry regulations.
- Perform and track data and document audit findings and collaborate with relevant partners to address any discrepancies.
- Perform general non-sterile compounding duties under the direct supervision of a pharmacist safely and accurately.
- Effectively use electronic compounding software, pharmacy equipment, and automated machinery.
- Clean the compounding area daily and as needed for scheduled full-lab clean.
- Collaborate the learning department with training modifications and partner to develop training that doesn’t exist for new quality updates/process changes.
- Maintains familiarity and compliance with compounding standards, including USP <795> and <800>.
- Other duties as assigned based on business need
What You’ll Need:
- Must be registered in good standing with the KY BOP as a Pharmacy Technician – “if applicable”
- 2+ years of experience in a compounding lab environment.
- Undergo respirator fit testing - Full beards or facial hair may prevent a proper seal for the respirator.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Must not have active suspensions, sanctions, or other restrictions against any state license or certification as it relates to the job activities and responsibilities listed herein.
- Must be capable of working with small, delicate pieces of expensive machinery to complete appropriate dosage forms in a timely manner
Physical Requirements:
- Have visual acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Technicians will work in a variety of positions and locations such as sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and walking, for prolonged periods of time.
- Wear required PPE and use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Bonus:
- Nationally certified as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) and/or Certified in Nonsterile Compounding through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
- 1+ year of experience in developing a quality program, laboratory R&D, or similar roles.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and quality standards is desirable.
