The role:

Reporting to the Finance manager, the Financial and Regulatory accountant will be a technical accounting expert for the group and play a key role in the preparation of the group’s annual consolidated financial statements and regulatory reporting.

Some of the principal activities you will be responsible for include:

  • Regulatory financial reporting for licensed entities, ensuring reporting is compliant with rules prescribed by the FCA, ACPR, and US state authorities. 
  • Manage the migration of regulatory reporting tasks for two recently acquired entities, assuming responsibility for the reporting for these entities within a strict timeline.
  • Preparation of the monthly group consolidated accounts of GoCardless Ltd and of the statutory accounts of subsidiaries
  • Providing support during the Company's external audits and interacting with auditors.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Research and resolve accounting issues including evaluation and implementation of new accounting pronouncements to ensure IFRS and US GAAP compliance.
  • Working with financial controllers to ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting for key processes and products
  • Delivering process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our accounting, reconciliation, and overall control environment
  • Preparation of financial reporting for investors
  • Participation in the cash flow reporting
What we’re looking for:
  • You have experience (5-8 years) in a similar position or a prior audit experience in a Big 4.
  • You are a financial accountant, with demonstrable knowledge of consolidation, statutory reporting, French GAAP, and IFRS standards.
  • A self-starter who can work independently to identify and resolve accounting issues.
  • You will have proven skills in analyzing processes with the delivery of process simplification and improvement through automation/ system development.
  • In addition to your technical expertise, you will be an excellent communicator, able to explain complex concepts to non-experts. You will be collaborative in your approach.
  • You have integrity and an analytical approach
Bonus points for:
  • Experience in a fast-growing scaleup environment.
  • Experience in fintech/payments.
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements for payment service providers
  • Knowledge of US GAAP & PCEC accounting
  • Fluent in French
