Construction Project Manager, International Site Development (Starlink)

CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER, INTERNATIONAL SITE DEVELOPMENT (STARLINK)
In this role, you will be responsible for surveying, permitting, and building Starlink antenna sites around the world. The ideal candidate has experience in site development at scale, is able to actively work on the builds of 50+ sites at a time, and excels at negotiations, evaluating bid proposals, and resolving conflicts with construction and utility delivery in the field. This person should be comfortable independently working with and influencing all types of stakeholders, including executives, contractors, facility managers, landlords, city planners, and utility planners, and be able to come up with creative and proactive solutions to meet tight delivery timelines and reduce average site delivery times. You will also be responsible for establishing best practices for accelerating site builds, helping improve our design and build process, and providing regular reports to key internal stakeholders including engineering, network, business teams as well as Starlink leadership. The ideal candidate is industry-savvy, fosters great partnerships in their region, and is committed to rapidly scaling Starlink’s ground infrastructure in new and challenging markets all around the world!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define project milestones and objectives, and ensure build, permitting, and design partners will deliver on commitments on or ahead of schedule.
- Identify and lead negotiations with build, design, permitting, and utility partners, ensuring favorable terms on pricing, delivery, and conditions.
- Direct site operations, overseeing subcontracted civil work and aids in engineering, design, regulatory, and purchasing processes.
- Consistently deliver 5+ sites per month that meet target cost and schedule, as well as safety, due diligence, code and spec compliance, and environmental and safety standards.
- Monitor project costs and provide accurate forecasts and financial models to maintain projects within budget that meet schedule commitments.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues in the field, keeping leadership and cross-functional teams informed as necessary.
- Travel to customer and vendor sites as needed, and ensure successful project closure and documentation.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree and 4+ years of experience in architecture, engineering, construction management, or facilities management; OR bachelor's degree and 2+ years of professional experience in architecture, engineering, construction management, or facilities management
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in telecommunication network site development.
- Experience managing major construction projects requiring estimating, cost control, schedule, contractor management, negotiations, surveying, permitting, procurement, and project forecasting and reporting.
- Experience working internationally or with international suppliers.
- Knowledge of processes of jurisdictional permitting and environmental agencies.
- Experience reviewing and approving construction drawings, blueprints, and technical documents.
- Able to work independently and in a team, take initiative, and communicate effectively.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Willingness to travel 50% or as needed to project sites.
- Willingness to work long hours when needed to meet critical deadlines.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range: Construction Project Manager I: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00/per year
Construction Project Manager II: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
