Consulting Engineer - Atlas Migration Services

Migration Services is a new practice within MongoDB Professional Services to drive the Atlas onboarding journeys of our most important and technically demanding customers and make them fantastically successful over the customer lifetime.
We are looking to add a Consulting Engineer to our Migration Services Practice - the Consulting Engineer will drive migration to Atlas for some of the largest and most technically sophisticated on-premise MongoDB customers. You should be passionate about customer success and know what it takes to implement new technology within the enterprise successfully. You will be part of a team of technologists, sales, support, and delivery professionals that are among the best in their fields.
We're looking to speak with candidates located in Eastern and Central time zones for this remote role.
Position Expectations- Operate in a small, dynamic, fast-growing team, able to be self-sufficient with an ability to have a can-do attitude and make oneself accountable
- Own successful Atlas onboarding for some of the largest and most complex MongoDB deployments and drive the implementation to achieve that
- Contribute to customer implementations at any or all phases of the application lifecycle with a focus on migrations: application planning and design, deployment architectures, development and build, integration and release configuration, system testing, production operations, application optimization, and best practices adoption
- Cultivate your reputation as a Migration SME and as a trusted advisor to guide MongoDB and our customers into the future
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to influence the direction of the MongoDB product roadmap. Influence MongoDB product development by contributing experience from the field. Communicate the product roadmap to external clients
- Communicate sophisticated technical proposals simply and convincingly to a wide range of audiences
- Adopt a consultative and prescriptive approach that inspires trust and confidence
- Degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field
- A Technology First mindset to build credibility with and engage with some of the smartest technologists in the world
- 3+ years experience with enterprise-scale software solutions, large-scale software engineering, or consulting services delivery experience preferred
- Excellent customer interaction and presentation skills (ability to present to different audiences and bring the message across in a concise, professional manner)
- Familiarity with enterprise-scale software architectures, application development methodologies, and software deployment and operations
- Competence in at least one of the following languages (in no particular order): Java, C++, C#, Python, Node.js (JavaScript), Ruby, Perl, Scala, Go
- Experience with databases such as MongoDB, Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with Linux diagnostics and tuning; Windows tuning knowledge is a plus
- Excellent analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
- High motivation for a role that combines deep technical and customer-management dimensions
- Confidence speaking and presenting in a customer setting
- Ability for occasional travel - up to 25% of the time at the high end
As a core member of the MongoDB PS team, you will:
- Contribute to customer implementations at any or all phases of the application lifecycle: portfolio assessment, application planning and design, deployment architectures, development and build, integration and release configuration, system testing, production operations, application optimization, and best practices adoption
- Deliver customer classroom-based training to architect, developer and operations roles
- Work as part of a wider delivery team comprising fellow consulting engineers, project managers and account teams
- Cultivate your individual MongoDB reputation as a trusted advisor to guide MongoDB and our customers into the future
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to influence the direction of the MongoDB product roadmap
As a Consulting Engineer you will be successful in this role when you can execute the following:

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:$90,000—$176,000 USD
