Data Analyst - Portfolio Analytics

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Data Analyst to support our team in maintaining and optimizing our Snowflake-based data warehouse. This role combines analytical skills with foundational data engineering tasks, providing a unique opportunity to grow in both areas. The ideal candidate will assist in data ingestion, master data management, and data engineering tasks while learning from and supporting more complex architectural initiatives.
Essential Job Functions:
- Help implement and maintain data models within Snowflake, including star schemas and snowflake schemas
- Assist in developing and maintaining ETL/ELT processes under the guidance of the Data Architect
- Assist in optimizing query performance by identifying inefficient queries and proposing improvements
- Support data quality initiatives by conducting regular data audits and helping to implement data validation rules
- Collaborate with the Data Architect to document data flows, data dictionaries, and metadata
- Manage and support Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives to ensure consistency and accuracy of data
- Support the implementation of data security measures using Snowflake's role-based access control (RBAC)
- Assist in troubleshooting data issues and discrepancies
- Analyze complex datasets stored in Snowflake to derive actionable business insights
- Perform ad-hoc data requests and analyses for various business units
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative
- 1-3 years of experience in data analysis or a junior data engineering
- Strong proficiency in SQL, with experience querying large datasets preferably in
- Basic understanding of data modeling concepts and
- Basic understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data integration
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, R) for data manipulation and
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience with Snowflake's unique features such as Time Travel and Zero-Copy
- Familiarity with data governance principles and data quality
- Preferred experience with Master Data Management (MDM) tools and
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in an understandable format to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in a specific business domain (e.g., finance, marketing, operations) is a plus
Salary Range - $72,000 - $76,500
The salary range is an estimate of pay for this position. Actual pay may vary depending on job-related factors that can include location, education, skill, and experience. The salary range does not include any benefits or other forms of possible compensation that may be available to employees.
