Diamond Turning Programmer (Starlink)

DIAMOND TURNING PROGRAMMER (STARLINK)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Run SPDT (single point diamond turning) machines to meet program and part specifications
- Set up and operate multi-axis CNC machines (mills and lathes)
- Complete machining operations from blueprints, drawings and/or verbal instructions
- Work with complex, tight tolerance parts and various materials (sub-micron tolerances)
- High attention to detail and ability to strictly follow standard work instructions and processes
- Document non-conformances and associated rework and quickly return non-conforming product back into normal workflow
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 1+ years of experience in set up, operation and/or programming of SPDT (single point diamond turning) machines
- 1+ years of experience in set up, operation and/or programming of CNC mill or lathe machines
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience scaling an optical machining operation from development through high rate production
- General knowledge of optical systems and how they function
- Familiarity with interferometry, optical testing and alignment
- Proficiency using SPDT CAM software (nanotech or precitech)
- Experience in research and development or other fast-paced technical environments
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics and/or drawings
- Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to navigate and manipulate files
- Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment
- Ability to take on project-based goals and deliver a final product, working beyond individual task assignments
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and/or weekends as needed
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Repetitive assembly operations, grasping, standing, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Diamond Turning Programmer/Level 1: $32.00 - $40.00/hour
Diamond Turning Programmer/Level 2: $36.00 - $45.00/hour
Diamond Turning Programmer/Level 3: $40.00 - $50.00/hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
