The MongoDB Jumpstart Director will utilize their experience in customer-facing sales, technical scoping, product evangelism, and business development, to help build out the fastest growing segment within MongoDB Professional services.
Our AppDev (or Jumpstart) program currently aids customers in modernizing their application architectures around MongoDB. It is critical in getting customers up and running on MongoDB, lowering time-to-market, optimizing efficiency, and lowering overall costs by reducing legacy technical debt. Our Jumpstart program is growing at 250% YoY and is a critical initiative within the professional services organization and wider company.
As a Jumpstart Director, you will initially aid the wider Engagement Manager (Professional Services Sales) team and account teams in increasing the sales and market exposure of our AppDev offerings. After learning and driving the business, the role will grow into helping architect the overall strategy, GTM, and even optimizing our product offerings. Eventually, the goal is to increase our Jumpstart organization to have specialists in various geographies helping increase awareness and actively selling our AppDev offerings to our customer base. This allows for strong career development opportunities and eventual leadership in building out a wider organization.

An ideal candidate will have- A BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent professional experience
- 12+ years experience in the sale of Professional Services and/or technology solutions at an enterprise software company
- Strong presentation skills: Showing the value, capabilities, and differentiators of complex service solutions using methodologies and service offerings
- Experience delivering webinars or customer facing presentations regarding product offering and capabilities
- Experience working with a broader ecosystem and managing multiple stakeholders
- Experience building both external and internal champions regarding sales and product offerings
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
- Product Ownership: Manage the Global AppDev number and sales initiatives with the goal of improving the overall offering and driving growth around AppDev sales or revenue
- Internal Marketing: Support internal marketing and evangelism efforts for AppDev Services by building reusable marketing assets (e.g. deal stories, proof points), working with PS Product Marketing as needed.
- Sales Motion Support: Support Engagement Managers on major AppDev deals, with the longer term goal of building out broader enablement programs to up-level our existing Engagement Managers
- Product Evangelism: Present to customers and internal key stakeholders at conferences or webinars to further the services AppDev brand
- Thought Leadership: research emerging trends regarding AppDev trends, customer needs, and modernization efforts.
Account Planning: Work with sales and EM leaders to proactively identify AppDev opportunities within customers and segments so that the team can drive higher efficiency in sales productivity
- Content and Tooling: Build and refine content and tooling that supports Engagement Manager productivity (e.g. proposal templates, estimation tooling, standard SOWs), and with PS leadership define data-driven approaches to measuring EM productivity regarding AppDev sales and efficiency
- Global Sales Enablement: Partner with the Sales Enablement team to drive the integration of AppDev sales into global Sales Enablement programs and initiatives
- New Offerings: Working with services practice leads as needed to improve upon and develop new AppDev offerings or templatized programs
- Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle and associated development methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall)
- Understanding of best practices and anti-patterns when developing software around both legacy and modern databases
- General knowledge of Databases (RDBMS, SQL, NoSQL)
- Knowledge of software architecture including both cloud and on-premise technologies e.g. AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Openshift

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:$150,000—$295,000 USD
