About the jobTwilio is looking for a curious, action-oriented Director for the Commercial Solutions Team who lives the Twilio Magic to support our Sales and Finance partners. This is an exciting role for the individual to share their expertise in structuring complex commercial agreements and providing exceptional financial business partnership for Sales leadership at Twilio. This role will serve as a leader in the organization and will manage Twilio’s global commercial strategy with its ISV customer base! You will be passionate, dedicated and have the ability to understand complex problems while providing explanations and solutions which are sound and clearly communicated.
ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you’ll:
- Build, maintain, and influence trusted working relationships with aligned Sales leaders. Relationships should be structured with consistent mechanisms for deal prioritization and review, in order to ‘own’ the total deal flow under aligned leaders.
- Act as trusted advisor for strategic deals, managing complex contracts, and sharing subject matter expertise with standard terms of service, pricing, and commercial terms in order to arrive at an offer with reasonably acceptable terms to both Twilio and our customer.
- Build consensus with leadership across Product Management, Commercial Legal, Billing Operations, Order Management, Finance, and Sales Executives on bespoke terms and conditions in compliance with Corporate policies.
- Define and influence policy, process and tooling automation requirements across all sales supporting functions in order to meet the needs of our sales team. Represent Commercial Solutions in cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Serve as advisor to more junior team members on custom order form creation, deal strategy, and deal escalation.

Required:
- A Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree plus minimum 10 years experience in Deal Management, Sales Operations, Sales, Finance, or Business Operations preferably in contracting, procurement, or billing operations. If no degree, a minimum of 12 years relevant experience is required.
- A minimum of 5 years experience directly managing a team, preferably in a relevant field as described above.
- Demonstrated ability to own and influence executive sales relationships, and the ability to manage or delegate the commercial customization needed to execute complex deals.
- Proven track record of leading and executing high impact, revenue accelerating projects.
- A diligent, detail oriented skill set, able to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple responsibilities at one time, while remaining extremely organized.
- Excellent verbal and writing skills and the ability to comprehend complex written concepts, as well as the ability to communicate these concepts to others.
Desired:
- Comprehensive experience in Salesforce, Docusign, CPQ systems, Conga CLM, MS-Office and / or G-Suite
- Experience owning a P&L or forecasting mechanism
This role will be remote and based in the USA.
Approximately 0-5% travel is anticipated.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:
- Based in Colorado: $149,000 - $186,000
- Based in New York, Washington State or California (outside the San Francisco Bay Area): $158,000 - $197,000
- This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
