The Community You Will Join:

We are looking for a senior strategic communications expert to lead Airbnb’s global Corporate Communications team. Airbnb's business profile continues to be one of the tech industry’s largest with significant global attention and welcomes a variety of unique policy, corporate and trust and safety issues. We are looking for someone who can bring a strategic approach to this muti-faceted job and is able to defend and promote Airbnb’s reputation all while leading a robust and talented team.This is a key role on the Global Communications team, and they will be responsible for developing a corporate communications plan that shares the company’s long term vision, societal value proposition, delivers understanding of our strategic differentiators, sets the right expectations, builds confidence in our executive team and maintains strong momentum as the company addresses its next major milestone and beyond.

The person for this job should be highly experienced in developing and successfully delivering corporate and business communications programs, be confident in managing external and internal stakeholders (at C-Suite level) and effective working with cross functional teams. We’re looking for an effective, kinetic, innovative and creative leader and communicator who has the ability to explain complex ideas in clear, compelling ways.

The role will report into the Director of Corporate/CEO and Policy Communications and will work closely and directly with the members of the executive team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads the Corporate Communications function, managing a team responsible for setting our business narrative and delivering a strong pipeline of proactive corporate news (M&A, financial news, managing annual and quarterly financial reports or the equivalent thereof, exec hires etc).
  • Anticipates potential issues and develops approaches to mitigate or manage negative news cycles
  • Provides oversight of our executive communications function, developing platforms and communications programs for our most senior leaders (CEO, Founders, Board Members, CFO, COO and CTO)
  • Partners with the global Communications team to tell our corporate and business story around the world
  • Drives strategy and collaboration across all communications functions (i.e. consumer comms, policy comms) to get maximum impact around our comms activities and ensure close alignment, including to our global editorial calendar
  • Provides communications counsel to key internal stakeholders, particularly at the executive level and within our finance and corporate development department

 Experience

  • 15+ years of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Confidence and presence with C-Suite executives
  • Experience managing internal teams and external partners
  • Experience in influencing global teams and delivering projects in a fast paced environment
  • Familiarity with domestic and international media markets
  • Ability to work with international teams and quickly develop an understanding for the cultural differences
  • Excellent writing and visual presentation skills
  • Unwavering verbal communications skills in any situation
  • Maintaining enthusiasm and calm demeanor in even the most stressful situations
  • Passion for Airbnb and the mission of the company

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.  

Pay Range$228,000—$285,000 USD
