About this team and role:

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Director of UX Design to lead our Firefox Mobile and Ecosystems team. This role will be responsible for shaping the user experience of our mobile browsers on iOS and Android platforms, as well as our ecosystem products such as Pocket. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in mobile UX design, a deep understanding of user-centered design principles, and the ability to lead a talented team of UX designers!

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and oversee the UX design strategy and execution for Firefox mobile browsers on iOS and Android, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Engineering, Data Science and Marketing to align UX goals with business objectives.
  • Mentor and manage a team of UX designers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Apply user research, analytics, and feedback to inform design decisions and iterate on product features.
  • Advocate for the user at all stages of the product development lifecycle, ensuring user needs and preferences are prioritized.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UX design and mobile application development.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in UX design, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing mobile applications.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering successful consumer mobile apps for iOS and Android platforms.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a deep understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
  • Experience with UX design for privacy and security-focused products is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically, with a strong attention to detail.
