People Success Partners (PSPs) are at the intersection of business strategy and talent strategy, – they influence, design and execute organizational and talent solutions in order to drive business outcomes with Toast’s senior leaders.  Engaging as trusted advisors to (generally) Sr. Director+ leaders, PSPs leverage HR expertise to advance organizational health engagement and performance, management capability, and equitable and effective people strategies. PSPs are impact-driven individuals and strong partners to People Team peers and to the business.  They are able to boil down complexity and ambiguity to create simplicity and clarity, and they lead the way on organizational transformation.

About this roll* (Responsibilities) 

  • Partner directly with the Chief Technology Officer, Chief Information Officer, and their respective leadership teams to design and implement value-led talent strategies that help achieve business goals.
  • Lead the development and execution of talent management processes for Toast Technology such as performance and talent reviews, succession planning, strategic geo/site planning, and engagement exercises in partnership with People team COEs.
  • Drive organizational effectiveness and business outcomes through healthy organizational design, change leadership, executive coaching, and orchestrating talent solutions. 
  • Lead with strong business acumen to design people-centered talent solutions and strategies that drive business outcomes.
  • Leverage quantitative and qualitative people trends, insights, and data to build and implement talent-related strategies, solutions, projects and programs.  
  • Build trusted relationships with senior leaders, providing individual and team executive coaching, feedback and advice that strengthen high performing teams. 
  • Collaborate with all areas of the People organization to deliver an aligned, effective people-centric approach to the business.
  • Provide perspective, voice and leadership in Toast’s People & Places Service Delivery Model evolution.
  • Act as a culture mirror and truth teller for the organization, helping leaders build and foster organizational culture that aligns with Toast Values. 
  • Ensure policies, practices, and programs are administered in an equitable and consistent manner.
  • Roll sleeves up with willingness to balance strategy with execution given where Toast is in our People Team model evolution. 

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

  • Proven ability to coach, partner with, and influence executive leadership, including at founder-led company
  • Demonstrated success performing in a high-growth organization with multiple stakeholders, each with varying needs
  • Exceptional experience leading change globally and at scale, comfortable managing ambiguity.
  • Demonstrated ability to show excellent judgment, creative problem-solving, and training/coaching
  • Willingness to help build – exemplify future state, build on foundation, and bring others along as we continue to evolve our People Team model. 
  • Strong teamwork, communication & cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to influence and lead through complex/matrix organizational structures
  • Organizational design & development expertise
  • Strong DEI-Q
  • Courageous communication and truth telling
  • Solid understanding of HR practices, policies, and employment law
  • Strong experience in performance management and people strategy
  • Bachelor’s degree in an HR-related field and/or HR certification preferred
  • Experience working in the Technology/SaaS industry is a plus
