We’re seeking a curious, self-motivated new team member with excellent editing skills, a nose for research and a thirst for helping people understand the bigger picture and how to navigate change that arises from technology.
As an Editor II for CNET Wellness, you’ll work within a collaborative team environment to guide our readers through the complex intersection of technology and wellness. You’ll partner with colleagues across the organization to edit, concept, and help create content in topics such as eye care, fitness, and wellness trends.
*Our ideal candidate will work in the office in a hybrid role; office locations include New York, Charlotte. We are open to remote candidates as well.
*This role is in a bargaining unit represented by a labor union, the Writers Guild of America, East.What You’ll Do
- Assign, edit, and publish new and updated content according to the specific editorial standards of our brands
- Edit content created by internal writers and freelancers
- Manage a monthly content calendar
- Work cross-functionally with content and SEO teams to update and improve existing content and create new content
- Partner with marketing, social, and other business units to promote and optimize content
- Concept and lead feature packages and special projects
- Manage publication timelines and adjust priorities as needed based on stakeholder needs
- Be responsible for hitting monthly content production goals
- Manage a small team of internal writers
- At least 2 years of editing experience
- Superb research, writing, and editing skills
- Experience creating or editing content based on SEO concepts and best practices
- Excellent communication skills and project management skills
- Excellent skills in meeting deadlines, managing multiple projects, and prioritizing workload
- Experience working with a house style guide and content management systems
- Experience following voice, style, and tone guidelines and to edit according to these standards
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with a team
- Comfort and confidence in making content decisions
- Management experience
- Experience with Wellness and Health topics is preferred but not required
- Cash Compensation Range: $70,000 - $85,000**Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
