Editor, Investing | Bankrate
Red Ventures is looking for an Investing Editor to help build a new category on Bankrate. This editor will primarily be responsible for overseeing the creation of engaging and informative annuities content that is highly visible on organic search.
The investing editor will be responsible for assigning content, updating existing stories, editing articles from staff and freelance writers, as well as collaborating with our SEO team to optimize content for search engines. The editor should have solid editing skills, as well as strong project management, communication and content strategy skills. An ability to work well in a team setting is a must.
What You'll Do:
- Identify, pitch, assign and edit SEO-optimized articles on annuity investments
- Update existing investing content (guides, comparisons, reviews, etc.) for timeliness and accuracy
- Work closely with senior editors and SEO analysts to identify priorities and execute a content strategy to grow an exciting new category within our investing vertical
- Stay up to date on news and trends in the financial markets to detect content opportunities
- Edit content for AP style, brand voice and tone
- Check story drafts for errors, typos and linking opportunities
- Create, produce and publish stories in our content management system (WordPress)
- Build industry connections with top investing and financial market experts
What We're Looking For:
- 2+ years of writing/editing experience
- A thorough understanding of annuities and other popular investment products
- Excellent research, writing and editorial skills, with the ability to effectively communicate edits to writers
- Willingness to leverage technology to find efficiencies in the content workflow
- Experience meeting tight deadlines while working independently to manage multiple projects
- Ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities while keeping up with a fast-paced environment
- Ability to edit content based on SEO concepts and best practices
- Ability to grasp the voice, style and tone of the Bankrate brand
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with a team and individually as needed
- Understanding of AP style
Compensation:
- Cash compensation range: $70,000 - $85,000*
- NYC cash compensation range: $70,000 - $102,000
- Note: actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
