We’re looking for a hard-working, fast-moving, digital Editorial Coordinator to join our POPSUGAR UK team within Vox Media. Our ideal candidate is pop culture obsessed with a strong interest in celebrity, entertainment, fashion, beauty, and wellness who has a smart, funny voice and a healthy habit of checking social media regularly. If you care about telling diverse stories, are the first to spot a trend in the making, live on TikTok, and are skilled at writing shareable headlines and witty leads for the UK market, we want to talk to you!

This position reports to the UK Content Director and is based out of our London office and remote working.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Cover lifestyle and identity content for POPSUGAR UK across celebrity, entertainment, fashion, beauty, and wellness verticals
  • Produce timely stories based on trending topics, using own research and as assigned and edited by the Content Director 
  • Manage a monthly list of strategic and seasonal evergreen content updates as assigned by Content Director, targeting SEO
  • Optimise and update copied US content to homepage
  • Scour the web on regularly to uncover new trending topics and pre-viral trends, with a heavy focus on search-optimised content
  • Consider analytics and previous successes to pitch strategic, winning story ideas
  • Support editors with content creation during special events, including award shows and Fashion Week, working quickly and cleanly in real time
  • Take feedback from editors to improve writing, headline writing, framing, pitching, grammar, and time management skills
  • Attend and participate in team meetings, editorial staff meetings, brainstorms, and industry events
  • Oversee the editorial calendar under the Content Director’s guidance, keeping it up to date with new releases, events, and occasions of note
  • Follow a wide range of trending topics to identify opportunities to spotlight multicultural stories and talent to align with POPSUGAR’s mission for inclusivity and diversity

 

WHO YOU ARE
  • 1+ year of experience in digital media, writing/editing, or a related field  
  • Excellent writing and communication skills 
  • Have a strong contacts list across entertainment, fashion, beauty, and wellness spaces 
  • Sound news judgment resulting in content that drives traffic and engagement
  • Experience producing pieces of standout original content each day 
  • Bursting with intersectional perspectives and passions that can translate to impactful content
  • Experience optimising content for search
  • Well-versed in social media
  • An ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
  • An ability to adapt to new and changing tasks and priorities on an hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly basis 
  • A proven interest in and dedication to covering broad viewpoints, cultures, and experiences
  • A familiarity with and passion for the POPSUGAR brand 
  • Must be willing and able to work occasional evening and weekend hours

This job is remote/hybrid. PAY TRANSPARENCY

The salary range listed below represents the minimum and maximum base pay for this position at the time of this posting. Final salary offered to the candidate selected for the position will be based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience.
