Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way.

The Community You Will Join:

At Airbnb.org, we are on a mission to create the future of emergency housing in times of crisis. We partner with local nonprofits, governments, and hosts to provide safe, welcoming stays for people displaced by disasters, conflict, and other emergencies around the world.

Our partners are essential to our mission: they identify and support beneficiaries, coordinate with local authorities, and help deliver services in fast-moving, high-pressure environments. We work hand-in-hand with these organizations to ensure that housing is deployed rapidly and equitably when and where it’s needed most.

Within 24 hours of every emergency response activation, our cross-functional objective is to begin providing housing, ensure the public knows how to access support, engage the media with clear messaging, and equip partners with the tools and knowledge they need to carry out beneficiary vetting, intake and case management.
