Engineering Manager - Backend

We're looking for an exceptional Engineering Manager to lead a talented team in building and scaling our next-generation search experiences powered by Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Large Language Models (LLMs).
What you'll do:
- Lead and manage a cross-functional engineering team focused on search product development.
- Define the technical vision and roadmap for assigned search features, ensuring alignment with product strategy and business goals.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop top engineering talent, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Collaborate with machine learning scientists, data scientists, designers, and product managers to bring search features to life.
- Oversee the entire development lifecycle, from ideation and design to implementation and deployment.
- Ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.
- Champion the use of machine learning, NLP, and LLM technologies to enhance search functionality.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and iterate on search features based on data and user feedback.
What you bring (One or more of the experiences below and an insatiable desire to build and scale globally):
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on search products or related domains.
- Proven experience leading and managing high-performing engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals, NLP techniques, and large language models (LLMs).
- Experience with search ranking algorithms, information retrieval systems, and relevance models.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to translate product vision into actionable technical roadmaps.
- Passion for building elegant, scalable, and user-centric software.
