In the role of Financial Analyst, you will support the global operations of Jump, by maintaining the integrity of the general ledger across a multitude of legal entities.  You will have responsibility for the books and records of several Jump subsidiaries, perform general ledger account reconciliations and rollforwards, assume accounting responsibility related to various components of the Firm’s spend, and prepare cost analysis and reporting.  You will be a primary resource to help Jump manage its third-party outsourced accounting relationships, including monthly reporting and reconciliations. You will also maintain other internal accounting records for our operating entities and assist in preparing period-end financial reporting. Each day you will be faced with new challenges that will continuously leave you looking for ways to streamline processes and help the team and business.

This role is based out of our Chicago office with an expectation to work in the office a portion of each week.

What You'll Do:

  • Support our month-end close processes, including preparing and posting journal entries and maintenance of month-end reconciliation workbooks in accordance with GAAP
  • Maintain primary coordination with local third-party accounting firms for local reporting requirements
  • Perform monthly variance analysis and reporting
  • Ensure timely, accurate completion of related special project/analysis work and other ad hoc tasks as requested of direct manager, controller, and/or CFO
  • Assist with external financial audits and preparation of supporting schedules for tax returns
  • Actively participate in the development and documentation of accounting procedures
  • Proactively identify needs for process enhancements and propose or build solutions to automate processes specific to your areas of responsibility
  • Other duties as assigned or needed

Skills You’ll Need:

  • Bachelors' Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or working towards one desired
  • At least 2 years of work experience in accounting – public accounting experience desired
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to define and resolve problems
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and excellent documentation skills
  • Collaborative and able to build and sustain relationships with colleagues
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible, conscientious, and easily adaptable to constant change
  • Professional demeanor and ability to use discretion when working with confidential material
  • Highly proficient in MS Excel, including experience with lookup functions and pivot tables
  • Reliable and predictable availability
