What is it like to work at Mynewsdesk? 

Mynewsdesk is an international workplace with around 15 developers of diverse expertise split into different teams. The teams collaborate closely with product managers, designers, data scientists, and test engineers to drive innovation and success. 

We believe that you perform at your best when working on tasks that are both fun and challenging. To support this, we have separated working tracks led by a product manager and teams guided by a technical engineering manager. You have the flexibility to choose and switch between different tracks or focus on specific technical projects. 

Our stack 

Our frontend tech stack includes React, Apollo GraphQL, Styled Components/CSS, and Next.js. We also leverage tools like nx for efficient project management and modularization. While React is central to our frontend development, we value expertise in modern frontend frameworks and technologies. 

On the backend, we use Ruby and Node.js to build robust APIs and services, with databases such as Clickhouse, PostgreSQL, and Elasticsearch. While this is a frontend-focused role, we see it as a strong advantage if you are open to working with backend technologies and frameworks, including Ruby and GraphQL, to contribute to full-stack solutions. We use standard tools for collaboration and development, such as GitHub, Jira, Slack, and G-Suite. Additionally, we utilize big data services to process customer data and analyze the media landscape, enabling a truly data-driven PR workflow. 

What will you do? 

• Develop and maintain frontend solutions using React, Apollo GraphQL, and Styled Components.
• Build scalable and performant web applications, including those built with Next.js.
• Collaborate closely with designers and product leads as part of a cross-functional team. 
• Optimize frontend performance and ensure high-quality user experiences.
• Mentor other developers and share knowledge on modern frontend practices.
• Contribute to backend development when needed, including designing GraphQL schemas and implementing resolvers in Ruby.
• Contribute to discussions and implementation of platform improvements to meet future user requirements.

Who are you? 

• You are an experienced frontend developer with at least 5 years of professional experience.
• You have a strong background in React.
• You are familiar with tools like nx for managing large-scale frontend projects.
• You have experience or interest in working with backend technologies such as Ruby or Node.js.
• You take pride in your work and know how to balance quality with timely delivery.
• You thrive in an agile environment and enjoy taking responsibility for technical design, implementation, and maintenance.
• You actively participate in discussions, discoveries, and planning processes.
• You have a passion for product development and enjoy seeing your solutions deployed to production.
• You communicate fluently in English and have strong language skills in Swedish or Norwegian.
