ABOUT THE TEAM
The Global Alliances and Channels team at Appian is a fast-paced, dynamic organization that plays an integral role in driving Appian's growth globally. We are establishing an elite, high-impact technical group to elevate our partner ecosystem's technical abilities and expertise to deliver market-leading solutions. Your work directly impacts partner capability, customer satisfaction, and Appian's market expansion through channel revenue.
THE OPPORTUNITY
As the Global Partner Technical Success Director, you will serve as a technical leader defining the global technical charter for Appian’s partner ecosystem. Reporting directly to the Global Partner Experience Leader, you will build and lead a high-caliber global organization of Partner Technical Success Architects across North America, EMEA, and India regions. This is a high-visibility leadership role where your strategic direction and operational frameworks will directly impact complex, mission-critical transformations for enterprise clients.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build and lead a high-performing global organization of regional Partner Technical Success Architects across North America, EMEA, and India, setting strategic objectives, operational governance, and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with the Global Experience Leader, Customer Success, and Product Engineering teams to define the global technical charter, operating framework, and engagement criteria that allow PTSAs to act as high-leverage force multipliers for partner delivery capability.
- Serve as the senior technical sponsor on Appian’s largest, most complex global enterprise opportunities, ensuring architectural alignment across internal and partner teams.
- Design and co-chair a monthly and quarterly Partner Technical Governance Board alongside Appian’s Customer Success leadership to evaluate deal volumes, triage capacity, regional performance metrics, and strategic alignment.
- Oversee the global team’s contributions to Appian’s AI tooling for partners, ensuring field intelligence, prompt libraries, and golden templates feed into the tool.
- Partner with Appian’s Enablement, Product Engineering, and Customer Success teams to guide the development of advanced partner technical curricula and certification tracks, and to establish repeatable frameworks for evaluating, vetting, and approving partner-built commercial solutions and revenue-share offerings.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
- 10+ years of leadership experience in technical professional services, partner engineering, or technical alliance leadership within enterprise software companies.
- 3+ years of direct experience managing and scaling high-performing global teams of enterprise architects across multiple time zones (US, EMEA, India).
- Proven track record of designing, building, and operationalizing technical partner programs across Global Systems Integrators (GSIs) and regional delivery hubs.
- Deep proficiency in Enterprise Software Architecture, platform infrastructure, cloud deployment, and large-scale digital transformation programs.
- Exceptional executive communication and negotiation skills, capable of commanding technical respect and building consensus with partner C-suite, Product Engineering, and Customer Success leadership.
- Comfortable traveling up to 30% to visit key partner delivery teams, host technical masterclasses, and support critical on-site project discovery.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- Demonstrated experience establishing governance frameworks, KPIs, and operational cadences for global non-billable technical organizations.
- We value experience with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce or ServiceNow, as these skills translate well into our Enterprise-Grade Orchestration environment.

The base salary range per provided represents a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant work experience, qualifications, internal peer equity, and market and business conditions that exist when extending an offer. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a commission plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.

Base Salary Range$200,000—$375,000 USDTools and Resources
