Brief Overview of Position

Perigold, the destination for luxury home, is opening its first physical retail stores, first-of-their-kind luxury retail destinations of 20-30K square feet, with the best products in all styles and from across our catalog including furniture, decor, housewares, and home improvement categories.  Come be a part of it!  We are looking for a Guest Host who will be responsible for welcoming and introducing guests to our store while simultaneously helping to be the frontline eyes and ears that identify any risks to store safety and security.  The Guest Host will report into the Assistant Store Manager, Guest Experience and will also be a part of a global Asset Protection team.  If you are a collaborative and engaging “people-person” who is diligent and thrives in a fast-paced environment, this might be the perfect fit for you.  

 

What you’ll do 

Guest Greeting 

  • Be the first impression of the store - greet and engage guests at the front door during business hours in a way that feels inviting and authentic and exemplifies our commitment to customer satisfaction and passion for luxury design.
  • Orient guests to store and provide shopping guidance and directions as needed. 
  • Refer customers as appropriate to Designers, Product Specialists and Guest Services for additional assistance.  
  • Maintain post, while providing clear and friendly information to customers.

Theft Identification / Prevention

  • Patrol the store and stand at assigned locations to create a professional and demonstrative visible deterrent to theft to all customers and associates.
  • Report suspicious external and internal activity to appropriate team member.
  • Conduct employee package checks for team members leaving the store.

Safety Monitoring + Reporting 

  • Identify and communicate any safety related concerns on the sales floor or back of house, by conducting safety related inspections.
  • Share feedback with leadership on safety observations.
  • Proactively react to safety incidents involving guests or associates.
  • Proactively address safety concerns in accordance with brand standards.
  • Complete thorough safety reports as required.
  • Attend safety related meetings to share safe ways of working and best practices.

 

What you’ll need

  • 1+ year of customer experience in a retail or other customer facing setting.
  • Flexibility availability (including mornings, nights, weekends, some holidays).
  • Excellent customer service skills - including written and verbal communication
  • Knowledge of Google Systems including email, google sheets, and other google platforms.
  • Energetic and optimistic attitude. Ready to take on new challenges.

Physical Requirements 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; regularly climb or balance; and frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly, frequently or occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Compensation starting at $16.00 per hour + quarterly bonuses
