Position Description 

The Center of Excellence serves a strategic leadership function that guides the GTM Enablement organization to align with the Sr. Director’s vision and support the overall organizational objectives. The COE can be considered the execution arm for leadership’s strategy and vision.

The COE is a shared service that provides governance while ensuring that best practices and standardized processes are applied consistently across the organization.  The COE sees that delivery and execution, across the board, achieve the high standards established for the organization. The COE acts as a central hub for expertise and a resource that supports the rest of the organization in implementing and optimizing key functions, programs, processes, and tools., 

The COE Is led by the Director of GTM Enablement. The Director of the GTM Enablement COE is the nucleus for the Center of Excellence. They own governance and standards while providing general oversight across the GTM Enablement Functions. A primary objective of the CoE is to establish the GTM enablement organization as a proactive, strategic partner to the business rather than a fulfillment arm and/or afterthought.   Key functions for this vital leadership resource include: 

  • Implementing governance frameworks that define roles and accountabilities, to establish a culture of accountability within the GTM enablement organization. (RACI)
  • Establishing and managing high standards for execution at all levels within the organization. 
  • Monitor and provide guidance to ensure the organization operates with the “Think globally, act locally” mindset.  (i.e. ensure all GTM enablement functions are helping global teams with translation and adoption as need)
  • Facilitating cross functional alignment (breaking down silos).
  • Developing and assisting in the execution of “cure plans” in collaboration with team leaders. 
  • Acting as the custodian of high standards, ensuring that processes, tools, and behaviors across the GTM enablement organization are consistent with the expectations set by the SVP.
  • Leading a team of managers to aid in execution across the GTM enablement organization.

This linchpin role also frequently takes on ad-hoc activities based on needs that arise and the Sr. Director of GTM Enablement deem to be crucial.  This role’s purview is not limited and the individual in this role must be able to operate primarily in a proactive posture but be able to “roll with the punches” based on business needs.  

The COE’s /COE Leader’s purview can be categorized into 3 key functions.

  • Support adoption of new frameworks and ensure stakeholder alignment

Strategic Communication:

  • Develop a comprehensive communication strategy for internal and sales audiences
  • Manage cross-functional communication and promote transparency
  • Use data-driven insights to improve communication effectiveness

Process Management:

  • Develop and maintain key processes aligned with GTM strategy
  • Ensure consistency and adherence across the organization
  • Gather feedback for continuous process improvement

  • Proactive Mindset: Identifies opportunities for preventative measures and adapts to the organization’s needs.
  • Eyes & Ears: Builds trust at all levels, gathering insights to inform SVP and act as a change agent.
  • Internal Consultant: Monitors execution, identifies gaps, and provides strategic insights to support the SVP.
  • Empathy for Seller Experience: Understands sales team challenges, fostering trust through past sales experience.
  • Keep Leadership Strategic: Ensures the SVP remains focused on strategic priorities, serving as a trusted advisor for the CRO.
