TWAICE is leading the market of battery analytics software with cutting edge and industry-leading technology in Europe and the Americas. As our Head of Finance & Legal, you will play a crucial role in driving our vision forward and making a deep impact on the company.  In this role, you will work directly with the Co-Founder / Co-CEO, our executive team, investors and have a unique opportunity to shape the future of TWAICE. As a trusted partner, you will be responsible for leading the company's financial & legal operations to drive growth, manage costs, and ensure financial sustainability. 

Your daily business will involve

  • Lead and manage the controlling, accounting and legal team (5 people total), including setting clear goals and expectations, providing regular feedback, and creating a positive and collaborative work culture. 
  • Collaborate with the TWAICE executive team to develop and contribute to the company's overall commercial strategy whilst ensuring financial sustainability. 
  • Create and manage a financial plan and budget, allocating resources effectively to achieve maximum return on investment. 
  • Analyze and evaluate financial as well as business performance, identifying opportunities for growth, optimization, and risk mitigation. 
  • Drive company reporting’s for all involved stakeholders, explicitly investors, which tell a story and forecast the business performance.
  • Oversee financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, tax, audit, and compliance. 
  • Support the sales team with strategic deal structuring and closing. 
  • Shape and consult the commercialization of our software through the right legal contractual frameworks. 
  • Oversee and lead all legal activities together with our legal counsel.  
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including investors and tax advisors to manage financial risk and secure funding as needed. 
  • Ensure financial policies and procedures are in place and adhered to, promoting transparency and accountability. 
  • Orchestrate the required business certifications we need to maintain and acquire to fulfill our commercial goals.

Your profile

  • At least bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or a similar field. 
  • 8+ years of proven success on the company side in a financial or consulting role (software product & PE/VC backed strongly preferred). Alternatively, experience in financial management, strategic management consulting or investment banking.
  • First experience to build and lead an effective team. 
  • Experience in developing and implementing financial strategies, financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting. 
  • Strong software business acumen and financial acuity, with the ability to provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. 
  • Understanding of legal concepts and translation of commercials into contractual frameworks. 
  • Experience with negotiation, drafting and managing of commercial agreements and T&Cs .
  • Intrigued by going the extra mile and passion for pragmatic execution. 
  • Fluent in both German and English.
