About the Job 

Your role is crucial in elevating our global logistics operations. Over recent years, our growth has been substantial, both domestically and internationally, establishing a broad presence in the logistics sector. We handle a significant volume of daily shipments, including parcels and pallets, across EU countries, the UK, Turkey, and China. With ongoing company acquisitions and internationalization efforts, we anticipate a further increase in these numbers.

To facilitate our future growth and enhance efficiency, our goal is to streamline logistics and customs clearance processes, emphasizing a digital approach. In this position, you'll be seamlessly integrated into our company processes, working across various interfaces. The business operates at a rapid pace, featuring flat hierarchies and a continuous evolution. Responsibilities

  • Leads and supervises logistics operations to ensure the timely delivery of products or materials. Manages transportation, scheduling, distribution, customs clearance, and other facets of logistics operations.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of a logistics vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to enhance operational performance.
  • Plans, oversees, and assesses logistics operations by collaborating with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies, and customers.
  • Implements best practice logistics principles, policies, and processes organization-wide to enhance operational and financial performance.
  • Negotiates rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers, selects carriers/suppliers, and monitors service compliance with company policies.
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives, identifies inefficiencies, and seeks cost optimization opportunities. Resolves issues related to transportation, logistics systems, imports/exports, or customer concerns.
  • Reviews the impact of logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes, or carriers, and communicates results. Assesses logistics processes for potential new facilities or plants, providing recommendations on cost implications and efficiency.
  • Ensures inventory accuracy integrity and manages stock movements with direct reports. Addresses and resolves inventory discrepancies, ensuring alignment between inventory and system records.
  • Provides meaningful logistics data to support customer service and cost improvement initiatives.
  • Manages, coaches, and develops a high-performing team aligned with agreed objectives, delivering best practice results, added value, and continuous improvements. Ensures all supervised functions operate in accordance with health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures for the safety and well-being of staff and visitors

Successful candidate

  • Solid understanding of customs regulations and practices on a global scale
  • Experience in establishing logistics and customs processes 2.0 in a modern and digital manner
  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in supply chain management, transportation, economics, business administration, project management, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in an industry-related field
  • Proven experience in managing global teams comprising full-time and part-time employees
  • Expertise in analyzing metrics and making data-driven decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement a supply chain strategy
  • Consistent track record of achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Technical and practical knowledge of logistics software and warehouse management systems
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in Google/Microsoft Office
  • Detail-oriented
  • Excellent command of the English language; proficiency in German would be a strong advantage
  • Proven leadership skills in an international environment.
