Head of Outsourced Labor, Procurement
This position will be based in our Boston, MA, office - this role is not a remote position. All Boston based corporate employees work in the office in a hybrid capacity. Employees will work in the office at least 4 days per week and have the option to work remotely on Fridays.
As a part of Wayfair’s Strategic Procurement team the Head of Outsourced Labor (OSL) is a new role focused on leading a centralized strategy and creating best practices for managing outsourced labor across Wayfair. In this role, you will partner with business leaders to build and execute the long-term roadmap for managing Wayfair’s outsourced labor. This person will lead a matrixed team of OSL managers across Wayfair departments to set standards for OSL operations, contract negotiations, and performance management. You will partner closely with leaders across Finance, Legal, Talent, and the business.
What You’ll Do
- Develop the strategy and drive execution of the operating model, roadmap, and KPIs for Wayfair's Outsourced Labor program.
- Establish and lead OSL/BPO PMO to ensure all offshore workflows within the network are operating at optimal cost, staffing and process efficiencies.
- Create and execute a plan to optimize our existing vendor portfolio by working with the business to define performance goals and set standard operating practices and costs; ensure standardized contracting practices are applied and maintained in partnership with Legal.
- Identify areas of underperformance and conduct RFX process to improve outcomes where necessary.
- Create a framework for evaluating workstreams to shift to BPO/OSL and implement a seamless process to shift work to vendors.
- Partner with the business to create a Preferred Vendor Program to streamline our OSL work and capture efficiencies across large buckets of spend; lead contract negotiations with preferred agencies that optimize value to Wayfair.
- Drive legal, financial and technological advancements of outsourced programs including implementation of a VMS (Vendor Management System), vendor performance scorecards, efficient, streamlined onboarding processes, and accurate spend governance methodologies.
- Be a strategic thought partner for executive business partners in Finance, Talent, Merchandising, Operations, Engineering, and Marketing.
- Partner with FP&A to govern and forecast spend for each line of business and broadly across the vendor network, establish spend targets, and monitor actuals.
- Streamline the process of onboarding, training, cross-utilizing, and measuring performance of vendors so that they are operating at maximum efficiency and meeting stakeholder established SLAs.
- Set up processes and tools for continually evaluating the network to ensure it is equipped with the right support, skills, diversification, and rate structures.
- Up to 10% travel.
What You'll Need
- 10+ total years of experience with 3+ years of experience in procurement, vendor management, outsourcing, finance, operations or similar business field and 3+ years of experience in project management role that involves leading major cross functional initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree required and preferred in an analytical field, such as economics, math, statistics, supply chain management, analytics, or engineering. MBA is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a high growth, data-oriented and entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong project management skills, analytics, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities, as well as the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and executive management.
- Articulate and persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A track record of successful negotiation (developing terms and negotiating high-value contracts) and relationship management skills.
