Your Mission:
Join us as a Head of Platform and leave your mark in re-defining how energy traders work! You will have a real impact in shaping our engineering culture and - of course - our platform, assuming responsibility and growing within our quickly developing start-up.Your mission is to manage the cloud infrastructure, security, and long-term architectural vision of the platform. This role is responsible for creating and maintaining a robust, secure, and scalable technical foundation that supports the company's strategic objectives.
Your Responsibilities / What you’ll do:
- Your primary focus is to design, implement, and manage the overall technical landscape, DevOps culture and infrastructure for enmacc.
- Develop and maintain the long-term architectural vision for the platform, aligning it with the company's technical strategy. Drive architectural decisions that support scalability, flexibility, and cost-efficiency. Manage the general backend, frontend and cloud technology stacks for efficient feature development.
- Lead and inspire a dynamic team of cloud engineers and senior principals to foster professional growth and efficient collaboration and communication.
- Collaborate with software engineers and product teams to evaluate and identify optimal solutions for future functionalities and architecture.
- Lead efforts to establish and maintain robust security measures, including data protection, access control, and threat mitigation.
- Lead incident management protocols to ensure swift and effective resolution of any platform-related incidents.
- Maintain synchronisation with the Head of Development and Head of Delivery for cohesive operations and act as a liaison for the product team regarding feature development feasibility.
- Be in charge of leading special customer projects and technical integrations.
- Explore innovative technologies by designing and building PoCs to assess their feasibility and potential benefits.
Required Experience and knowledge:
- Degree in computer science or a similar field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership position, such as engineering manager, head of, team lead, startup CTO or tech lead role.
- A minimum of 5 years in active web development, with a focus on backend technologies and databases, especially in Java.
- Hands-on expertise with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, demonstrating the ability to design, implement, and manage cloud-based systems.
- Ability to integrate DevOps principles into the development lifecycle, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Experience with SysOps, Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code. (CDK, Terraform or Cloud Formation) is a plus
- Interest and passion to learn and experiment with new technologies
- Strong desire to automate routine processes
- The ability to work autonomously and in a result-oriented way
- Excellent written and spoken English skills
