🚀 Purpose of role

To run Monzo’s Business & Tech Hiring Coordination function, including line management of Hiring Coordinators and overseeing and improving key Coordination tools & processes, including interview scheduling and background checks. As Hiring Coordinator Lead, you’ll manage our team of Hiring Coordinators for our Business & Technology functions. You'd be expected to have regular 1:1s with the team, offering feedback and coaching to continuously aid their development. You’ll have overall responsibility for making sure our coordination processes at Monzo run like clockwork, with a focus on providing a world class candidate experience. You’re also responsible for ensuring that every new Monzonaut has a complete set of background checks before they start with us. Whilst you aren’t expected to do Hiring Coordination work yourself as part of your day job, on occasion this may be required to cover gaps in the team, or for confidential roles.

 

💪 Responsibilities include: 

  • Day to day line management of Hiring Coordinators, including assessing and managing their performance.
  • Coaching and supporting the growth of Hiring Coordinators.
  • Making sure we can provide full coordination cover to the business at all times, including managing cover for holiday or extended leave, headcount planning & hiring.
  • Scoping, defining and reporting on team KPIs and SLAs.
  • Having overall responsibility for the onboarding journey for new Monzonauts in Business & Tech, including working with People Operations, IAM, TechOps & other support teams to ensure everything is set up for our new hires’ first day.
  • Being the 1st point of contact for pre-employment screening discrepancies and escalations.
  • Working with 3rd party providers to ensure screenings are completed within service level agreements.
  • Partnering with the Hiring Operations team to manage vendor relationships for Coordination-specific tools such as GoodTime, Enboarder and Security Watchdog.
  • Supporting the Hiring Operations team, wider hiring team & People Collective with ad-hoc tasks and projects, to make our people processes run like clockwork.
  • Representing Hiring Coordinators in internal and external audits and control testing.
  • Hiring Coordination for sensitive or confidential roles, and to cover team absence as required.

🤩 We’d love to hear from you if you…

  • Have experience as a people manager, ideally managing an operational role, and with experience of:
    • Coaching and mentoring to enable others to perform at their best
    • Providing developmental feedback
    • Performance management
  • Have experience in a highly operational role with a focus on process improvement.
  • Have a good understanding of what good looks like in the Hiring Coordination space, and use that knowledge to drive continuous improvement to our coordination processes and ways of working.
  • Have proven experience of driving change and standardising processes with a focus on scalability.
  • Are confident in working with lots of stakeholders (internal & external) and adapting your working & communication style to suit their needs.
  • Are comfortable assessing and communicating priorities on behalf of yourself and your team, and adaptable when those priorities change
  • Are empathetic and passionate about delivering a great candidate experience, with a focus on inclusive hiring processes.
  • Have experience with vendor selection, onboarding & management of People tools & systems.
  • Have expertise in managing pre-employment screening checks.
