As Public Sector Go-to-Market Leader, you will drive the go-to-market strategy to grow the Federal and the State, Local, and Education (SLED) business from a revenue and new logo perspective at Databricks. You will be the domain expert and business executive for the Public Sector within Databricks. In this role, you will set the vision, build executive relationships with government entities and partners, and work with a cross-functional team across Databricks. You have a technical background, a passion for how Data+AI will transform the public sector, be familiar with policy imperatives mapped to funded government initiatives, and be effective at articulating your vision. This job will require travel for conferences, customer and team meetings. You will report to the Global VP of Financial Services, Cyber Security, and Public Sector GTM.

The impact you will have: 

  • Work closely with the sales and pre-sales teams to create account-level plans as well as build comprehensive sales programs that can be repeatable across multiple geographies and government entities
  • Become a trusted advisor to strategic customer Executives on enterprise data consolidation efforts, especially focused on Data+AI modernization. 
  • Collaborate with the partnership team to develop strategic relationships with Public Sector Systems Integrators and influence their GTM strategy for Data+AI.
  • Become a trusted advisor to various stakeholders within Databricks, from product, sales, pre-sales, and marketing to partner teams to influence broad company strategy for the public sector in the US and abroad. 
  • Identify operational gaps in the Public Sector GTM motion, be data-driven about quantifying business opportunities, and execute improvement plans.
  • Act as a credible thought leader in the industry by authoring white papers, speaking at events, and engaging with executives.
  • Collaborate with the enablement team to build programs that enhance the field’s knowledge of agency operations, legacy competitors, security & compliance certifications, regulations, and relevant case studies. 
  • Partner with marketing to develop tailored Public Sector case studies, collateral, blogs, and demand generation plans.
  • Ensure Databricks has security messaging and positioning for Federal and SLED as well as global government teams.

What we look for:

  • Minimum 15 years experience working as a Technology/Data executive at Government agencies or Systems Integrated working with execs at Public Sector entities. 
  • Intimate knowledge of key policy imperatives, funding processes, and procurement procedures of various federal and SLED entities. 
  • Proven record of driving change at large Public Sector entities both from technical and business perspectives, with a strong understanding of how large agencies make decisions and the ability to influence that decision-making process. 
  • Strong customer-facing presence (CXO, IT, and Leaders) and ability to cultivate executive relationships and open doors for the field. 
  • Strong knowledge of the technical landscape in the public sector and existing relationships with Hyperscalers. 
  • Hands-on experience with program managing complex technology initiatives which includes: collecting, tracking and prioritizing agency requirements, working with technical resources to ensure timelines are met, collaborating with marketing to develop marketing assets and event planning, working with partner teams to track partner relationship progress ensuring key milestones are met.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and verbal/written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.

 

Pay Range Transparency

Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.  Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above. Local Pay Range$256,900—$454,300 USD
