The FLS (finance, legal & strategy) team strives to be the co-pilot to every team and also to the entire company. We are the trusted business partner that sits at their side, a confidant that supports decision making. As a co-pilot, who sees how all the components come together, we watch out that the entire result is best for the company. How do we get there? We build trust that we are a strong co-pilot. We always try to best support every team and the entire company. Outputs we produce (processes, reports) are looked at through the eyes of the recipients. They are correct, timely, and are well thought-through. We add a concise punchline or recommendation that informs the decision making. All outputs are generated in an efficient way that is standardized and automated as much as possible, so we preserve capacity for high impact topics that require more tailoring. We tackle topics not only in a reactive, but rather proactive way. And all of this we embed in strong, effective communication. To get there, we need to work as one team FLS together. Support each other. Use our joint meetings effectively to update each other, discuss, align - and ultimately have fun together!We are looking for an intern who supports our Strategic FP&A (financial performance & analytics) team in our Munich office. Within FLS the Strategic FP&A (financial performance & analytics) team has four major areas of responsibility:1) Validation of strategic initiatives, market entries, and product developments from a financial perspective2) Steering and overseeing the bi-annual budgeting process3) Tool ownership of workday Adaptive which is the technical backbone of all reporting and planning needs4) Reporting factory, e.g. building up, maintaining, and continuously improving our reporting landscape; this includes reports to exec-management, department heads as well as to our investors

Role Responsibilities: What you'll do

Intern Strategic FP&A (Munich, Start 15.03.2024)

  • Reporting: Support in the preparation of reports to our executive management, board and investors, contributing to the effective communication of key insights and performance metrics.
  • Budgeting: Contribute to the development of the (bi)annual budget, the multi-year planning, and monthly forecasts
  • Financial Evaluation: Take an active part in creating financial evaluation and steering concepts for our major products and markets
  • Project Work: Handling of Adhoc tasks and cross-functional finance-related projects
Your Learnings:
  • Attain a thorough practical understanding of every phase within an end-to-end planning process
  • Gain insights into how strategy is operationalized and how its successful implementation is measured and controlled
  • Acquire proficiency in utilizing Adaptive, a prominent EPM solution, and Tableau, a leading BI dashboard tool
  • Gain a profound understanding of the SaaS industry, its value drivers, and metrics
  • Experience collaboration with an FP&A team as well as with business partners and management in a fast-paced startup environment

Role Requirements: What you need to succeed

We are seeking highly motivated and analytical individuals to join us. You should possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze financial data and present solutions.Hard Skills:

  • Current or completed studies in Finance, Accounting, Controlling or a related field
  • First practical experience through internships in FP&A, Controlling or a related area, ideally in a fast-paced business environment 
  • Strong Google Sheets/Excel and Google Slide/PowerPoint skills
Soft Skills:
  • Independent and self-reliant working style
  • High standard for own work results and a strong hands-on mentality
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Get-stuff-done mentality and the ability to adapt to changing situations
