What's the opportunity? 🤔

The Lead HR Business Partner, NAMER is a key member of the People team in driving organizational success at scale. We are looking for an experienced, commercially-oriented hands on BP Leader who excels in key areas of executive partnership, people leadership, and strategic thinking. Reporting to the Director HR BP’s and People Operations, you will lead and inspire a small, but mighty team of HR Business Partners & play an integral role in driving critical business initiatives for Intercom’s Go-to-Market and G&A teams.

What will I be doing? 🚀
  • Be an embedded and strategic thought partner to executives and senior leaders, providing guidance and input on matters such as workforce and succession planning, performance management, engagement and retention initiatives, compensation, and employee relations.
  • Directly oversee a talented team of 2 US-based HR Business Partners.
  • Provide business partnership to Intercom’s President of GTM and other members of the Executive and Senior Leadership team.
  • Participate in decision making at the Senior Leadership level within your client groups; help leaders think and plan long term while navigating change.
  • Influence leaders to uphold incredibly high standards for the talent on their teams; ability to partner with senior leaders to identify acute trends within their orgs and develop/execute action plans swiftly.
  • Translate business priorities and goals into personal and team actions.
  • Develop and implement innovative and data-driven HR strategies for proactive & effective people planning, employee engagement/experience, process improvement, etc.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to the development and execution of People Programs, supporting employee and manager enablement needs as needed.
  • Partner closely with global HR Business Partners and centers of excellence (Recruiting, People Ops, Comp, People Programs, etc.) to identify and drive strategic initiatives, efficiencies, best practices, and continuity.
  • Partner with the business to roll out key People initiatives (performance management, compensation, benefits, development programs, etc.).
What skills do I need? 📖
  • Broad and deep experience as an HR Business Partner leader with knowledge of change management, organizational development, talent management, performance management, employment, compensation, etc.
  • Bias for action, is resourceful and can think outside the box.
  • Ability to translate business goals into People initiatives.
  • Acts with a sense of impatience and influences others to do the same.
  • Can thrive in an ever-Changing environment, is agile and able to lead the team and business to be early adopters of change.
  • Ability to think outside the box, not necessarily what is in the HR playbook or best practice.
  • Comfortable managing competing priorities, and is able to unblock, support and guide the team to deliver impact to the business.
  • Leads with opinions, has a pragmatic approach and is a strategic thought partner to senior leaders and executives.

The base salary range for candidates within the San Francisco Bay Area is $148,800 - $238,100. Actual base pay will depend on a variety of factors such as education, skills, experience, location, etc. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All regular employees may also be eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). 

Intercom has a hybrid working policy. We believe that working in person helps us stay connected, collaborate easier and create a great culture while still providing flexibility to work from home. We expect employees to be in the office at least two days per week.
