Tl;DR: We're looking for an impact-orientated Lead Product Analyst to join as an early analytics hire and help power product-led growth.

Welcome to the video first world

From your everyday PowerPoint presentations to Hollywood movies, AI will transform the way we create and consume content. Today, people want to watch and listen, not read — both at home and at work. If you’re reading this and nodding, check out our brand video.

Despite the clear preference for video, communication and knowledge sharing in the business environment are still dominated by text, largely because high-quality video production remains complex and challenging to scale—until now….

Meet Synthesia

We're on a mission to make video easy for everyone in the enterprise. Born in an AI lab, our AI video communications platform simplifies the entire video production process, making it easy for everyone, regardless of skill level, to create, collaborate, and share high-quality videos. Whether it's for delivering essential training to employees and customers or marketing products and services, Synthesia enables large organizations to communicate and share knowledge through video quickly and efficiently. We’re trusted by leading brands such as Heineken, Zoom, Xerox, McDonald’s and more. Read stories from happy customers and what 1,200+ people say on G2.

In 2023, we were one of 7 European companies to reach unicorn status. In February 2024, G2 named us as the fastest growing company in the world. We’ve raised over $150M in funding from top-tier investors, including Accel, Nvidia, Kleiner Perkins, Google and top founders and operators including Stripe, Datadog, Miro, Webflow, and Facebook.

Right now, we’re hiring a Lead Product Analyst to support our Product organization. We’re looking for someone to own and develop the analytics framework we use to understand user behaviour, explore our data and shape new product opportunities from data insights. As the second hire on our data team, you’d have a big say in shaping how we approach data as a function. If you’ve worked in multiple organizations and always thought there was a better way to work with data, this is your chance to make it happen.

You can read on our watch this video to understand more about the role.

As a Lead Product Analyst, you’ll:
  • Own the product analytics framework, creating the measurement & tracking plan for capturing the right data, defining the metrics and methodology to build our understanding of our users’ behavior across the team.
  • Partner with our Head of Product and Engineering Leads to evolve our analytics capabilities in line with our product roadmap, anticipating the questions that’ll matter to support the product and company strategy.
  • Work within the DBT pipeline to shape the analytics tables in a way that supports your own work but also expose the basics of the product in an accessible way for the rest of the team.
  • Partner with the PMs in order to define the analytical framework and target metrics to drive their respective Product Area.
  • Shape the structure of our Product Analytics team, determining what actions need to be taken to ensure our team scales effectively. You’ll need to interview and hire new Product Analysts, evaluate the skillsets we need in the team to succeed, and develop direct reports so the Product Analytics teams meets its goals on analytics projects.
What you will be working on:
  • We’ve rolled out this year collaboration and workspace features. How can we optimize for virality inside the enterprise? How well is sharing working and where are the bottlenecks?
  • What are the areas of improvements in our sign up and onboarding process? How should we measure the success of changes to those?
  • Synthesia studio has dozens of features. How should we think about their respective importance to our users? How should we evaluate new editor features launch?
  • Avatars and voices are at the heart of our products. What can we learn from usage data to drive our curation and research roadmap?
You should apply if you bring:
  • Experience as a Lead/Manager or equivalent level Product Analytics-focused role where you’ve driven impact and helped shape product direction while leading other Analysts.
  • You’re comfortable being hands-on and bring 5+ years of experience as a data analyst, data scientist and / or analytics engineer working on digital products where your analysis has impacted the product you worked on.
  • Strong analytical skills, i.e ability to turn ambiguous questions into well defined metrics.
  • Strategic and business skills, allowing you to understand and anticipate the questions that will impact the company.
  • Deep familiarity with SQL and some exposure to python.
  • Experience with DBT pipelines or equivalent data pipeline tools.
  • Proven track record of influencing product direction.
  • Effective communication skills and specifically especially utilizing data visualization to communicate data-driven decisions.
At Synthesia we expect everyone to:
  • Be an owner.
  • Focus on outcomes over Inputs and Plans.
  • Make the journey fun
  • Default to simple.
