About the Operational Finance Team
The Operational Finance Team is responsible for a variety of tasks that are instrumental in keeping the business running on a day to day basis. There are four teams within the Operational Finance Function each serve a specific purpose to the company: Accounting and Accounts Payable - Accurately records all vendor related transactions and keeps our vendors paid, Billing Team - provisions all customers access to mixpanel and ensure proper revenue recognition, Collection Team - records all customer payments and ensures we get paid on time, Payroll - prepares payrolls for all employees world wide. The team is split between the Bay Area and Barcelona.
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable Accounting Manager to support the Controller in the day to day responsibilities of the Accounting and Collection Team’s along with leading large project initiatives. An effective accounting manager has good knowledge of accounting principle and is organized with a great eye for detail. The accounting manager must be reliable and able to lead and carry out projects autonomously and collaboratively. They strive to contribute to keep the accounting and financial processes of the company up to standard and ensure accurate financial reporting and control. You will report to the Controller.
Responsibilities:
The Accounting Manager is primarily responsible for all General Ledger Accounting except Revenue and AR, advanced technical accounting expertise, overseeing the financial statement audits and managing larger finance operations projects.
More specifically:
- Direct and manage timely and accurate execution of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close
- Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting (including AP) and collection teams, the entire procure to pay process as well as cash receipts.
- Identify and lead key finance initiatives related to strategy, process change and efficiencies; guide and assist other departments by clearly communicating current accounting and policies and procedures as well as composing and disseminating new procedures and policies as necessitated by best practices and changes laws, requirements or policies.
- Assist in preparing and consolidating financial statements along with managing the preparation and review of required schedules for auditors, including fieldwork, submission of documents and ad hoc questions.
- Ensuring all accounting practices are in compliance with legal guidelines and established accounting principles
- Develop, maintain and ensure policy, procedures and internal controls are updated in accordance to US GAAP
- Assisting in review of tax documentation for state, local, federal and international matters
- Support the Controller and Assistant Controller as needed in ad hoc projects or cross team reviewing.
We're Looking For Someone Who Has
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
- 5+ years in Finance or Accounting based role, with experience managing a team.
- CPA designation and familiarity with US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Analytical and organizational skills
- Attention to detail
Bonus Points For
- Experience with Netsuite and Blackline, Equity Accounting
- Background in project management, managing large teams international team, reached manager level at an audit firm
Compensation
The amount listed below is the total target cash compensation (TTCC) and includes base compensation and variable compensation in the form of either a company bonus or commissions. Variable compensation type is determined by your role and level. In addition to the cash compensation provided, this position is also eligible for equity consideration and other benefits including medical, vision, and dental insurance coverage. You can view our benefits offerings here.Our salary ranges are determined by role and level and are benchmarked to the SF Bay Area Technology data cut released by Radford, a global compensation database. The range displayed represents the minimum and maximum TTCC for new hire salaries for the position across all of our US locations. To stay on top of market conditions, we refresh our salary ranges twice a year so these ranges may change in the future. Within the range, individual pay is determined by experience, job-related skills, qualifications, and other factors.
