Our Opportunity

At Chewy, we strive to become the most trusted and convenient online destination for pet parents and our partners – vets and service providers – alike. Our success is measured by the happiness of the people and pets we serve, not simply by the amount of pet supplies we deliver. That’s why we continue to think of outside-the-Chewy-box ways to delight, surprise, and thank our committed pet lovers.

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Business Intelligence (BI) Manager to lead our BI and analytics function supporting the Procurement, Real Estate, and Facilities (PREF) organization. In this role, you will manage a team of Business Intelligence Engineers and Analysts, guiding them to build scalable data solutions, drive automation initiatives, and deliver actionable insights across Chewy’s procurement landscape. You will partner directly with procurement leaders, program managers, data engineers, and data scientists to anticipate the data infrastructure and tooling needs of the organization and proactively build solutions that fuel insights. This role requires deep expertise in business intelligence, best practices, exceptional leadership and team development capabilities, and a strong technical foundation in data analytics and visualization.

As part of a team that supports multiple organizations, you will be responsible for leveraging technical solutions to transform raw data from multiple sources into actionable insights. The ideal candidate has proven experience integrating and scaling data applications plus exemplary data visualization and technical problem-solving skills. This individual is highly proficient in partnering across technology and business teams and has proven experience delivering high quality results with minimal direction from leadership. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required as this role will interface directly with cross-functional teams to roll out new tools, communicate data infrastructure changes, and share analytical findings with executive leaders.

What you'll do:

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with senior procurement leadership, category managers, and cross-functional partners to understand evolving business needs and translate them into impactful BI solutions.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a high-performing analytics team responsible for spend visibility, supplier performance, and KPI dashboard across Chewy’s enterprise procurement organization.
  • Strategic Data Planning: Define, maintain, and evolve the organization's key performance metrics. Align BI strategy with procurement goals to support data-driven decision-making.
  • BI Tools & Automation: Lead the development of automated dashboards, self-service BI tools, and scalable reporting infrastructure. Streamline reporting processes and reduce manual workloads.
  • Data Governance: Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all procurement-related reporting and analytics.
  • Analytics & Insights: Conduct deep-dive analyses into large, complex datasets to uncover trends, identify root causes, and generate actionable insights to improve procurement efficiency and supplier performance.
  • Business Reporting: Own and deliver reporting for Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), and Weekly Business Reviews (WBRs).
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve procurement reporting and analysis workflows, championing automation and standardization.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage data and statistical analysis to drive recommendations that improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
  • Exemplary stakeholder management and prioritization skills using systems, processes, and scalable frameworks.

What you'll need:

  • 5+ years of experience in business intelligence or data analytics.
  • 5+ years of experience managing and developing analytics or BI teams, with a proven track record of delivering results and building high-performing teams.
  • Proficiency in SQL with a strong ability to write, debug, and optimize complex queries.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake or Redshift.
  • Demonstrated success building and maintaining self-service BI tools and dashboards.
  • Expertise in data visualization using tools such as Tableau, Quicksight, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with programming/statistical languages like Python, R, Weka, SAS, or Matlab.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of translating technical findings into executive-level insights.
  • Proven stakeholder management, prioritization, and project management skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to data integrity

Bonus:

  • Master’s degree in Analytics, Business, or related field (e.g., MBA).
  • Experience in the supply chain or procurement industry.
  • Understanding of sourcing processes, supplier lifecycle management, and category strategy.
  • Familiarity with DBT for data governance and transformation.
  • Comfort working in a pet-friendly environment.
