Our Opportunity:

We are looking for a Manager, Data Engineering at our facility in Bellevue, Washington to design and implement data solutions best-suited to deliver on our needs and use cases — from streaming to data lakes, to analytics, and beyond across a progressively evolving technical stack.

 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Provide thought leadership by recommending the right technologies and solutions for a given use case, from the application layer to infrastructure.
  • Have the leadership and coding skills (e.g. Python, Java, and Scala) to get solutions into production while ensuring performance, security, scalability, and robust data integration.
  • Drive success in a collaborative way and communicating insights for identifying new areas of opportunities that will drive Chewy's value and growth goals forward.
  • Coordinate with the stakeholders to prioritize and lead the changes to production.
  • Working across a variety of technologies and business verticals.
  • Manage and mentor a team of data engineers.

 

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Analytics, Cloud Architecture, Technology Consulting, or related field and 8 years of experience.
  • Will accept Master’s degree and 6 years of experience.
  • Experience must include 6 years in: SQL;
  • Write, debug, and optimize SQL queries;
  • Data modeling experience in eCommerce, Retail, or Merchandising;
  • Business intelligence technologies such as Tableau and Power BI.
  • Experience must also include: working with core data platforms: Snowflake, AWS, Azure, Hadoop, Databricks; and
  • Java, Python, Scala, or another modern programming language.
  • The position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

 

Compensation & Benefits:

Our salary range for a Manager, Data Engineering position is $192,289 - $234,500. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Non-exempt hourly team members accrue paid time off (PTO) while salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Non-exempt hourly team members in Fulfillment Centers and Customer Service are also eligible for additional unplanned unpaid time off (UTO). Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
