Lincoln International follows a hybrid work structure with an emphasis on in office collaboration.Our employees work in our Chicago office Monday through Thursday each week, with the option to work remotely or from the office on Fridays. Our office is located at 110 N Wacker Drive, just blocks from Union Station & Ogilvie Transportation Center.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Manager, Employee Relations position at Lincoln International provides an excellent opportunity to work in a demanding, yet supportive, team-oriented environment. Lincoln is seeking an experienced, self-motivated HR professional to join the Talent team to support U.S. HR programs, governance and policies to ensure Lincoln addresses employee and HR matters in a compliant manner that fosters and strengthens our culture and employee engagement.
Based in Chicago, Illinois, the Manager, Employee Relations will lead a small team, leveraging knowledge of HR law/regulation requirements to inform, implement and champion policies for the U.S. organization. The incumbent will work with other groups within the Talent Team (e.g., Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, Business Partners), as well as other functions in the organization (e.g., Legal, Compliance), to monitor and respond to changes affecting our people processes and have an impact on the U.S. organization.
The Manager, Employee Relations will be accountable for the following:
- Lead employee relations efforts for Lincoln International U.S.
- Serve as a confidential resource for employees and leaders
- Manage and lead confidential personnel situations, including non-compliance with policies to resolution
- Communicate critical messages or changes to HR policy to management and the employee base
- Promote organizational policies by modelling a positive image of the company
- Create / review / revise policies, documentation and practices as needed to drive a compliant employee experience
- Create required documentation along the employee lifecycle (e.g., employee leave documentation, transfer letters, separation agreements, etc.)
- Manage and oversee the accuracy of human resource files, records and documentation
- Partner with Legal & Compliance to monitor and respond to regulatory changes affecting our people processes
- Partner with Legal & Compliance to respond to Compliance Hotline cases to resolution
- Maintain the U.S. Policy Manual, as well as policy governance documentation
- Maintain and ensure compliance with applicable equal employment opportunity (EEO) and related employment laws, filings and regulations
- Serve as a subject matter expert in employee relations matters, including conducting investigations, pre-employment requirements and leading employee situations to effective resolution
- Strategic support of Lincoln’s benefits and wellness offerings to enhance employee engagement and to be a competitive advantage for the firm
- Collaborate with Benefits Manager to evaluate and revise recommendations from our external Benefits partner
- Assist in the management of the annual budget as it relates to spend on benefits, wellness and high-level compensation, working in tandem with Lincoln’s Finance function
- Support team in HRIS management and enhancements to ensure accurate people data and effective reporting to inform business decisions
- Collaborate with other functions and global offices in the pursuit of global reporting and compliance matters
- Keep other departments informed of HR developments affecting their functions
- Ensure collection of accurate global headcount information
- Providing support for all U.S. immigration matters including working with internal teams and external experts as required
- Support and administer the temporary office secondment program with internal teams and leaders in global offices
Other duties as assigned based on business need (e.g., supporting projects, committees, etc.). This role has the potential to evolve over time as the person makes strategic recommendations on how to best serve the organization as we scale.

Other Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of knowledge and experience in employee relations, HR, HR compliance or related field
- A bachelor’s degree in business/human resources or related field and/or HR certification(s) (e.g., PHR or SHRM Certification)
- Keen knowledge of various employment laws and practices
- Strong organization/prioritization skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize work and adapt to business changes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort with data and Excel, and strong proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
- Prefer experience within the financial or professional services industries – ideally in a matrixed environment
