We are looking for a Manager, Revenue Accounting to help shape the future of our finance operations. This role will focus on aligning Sales, Finance and Accounting through extensive cross-collaboration to drive accuracy, transparency and timely reporting in our billing and payment of publisher remittances. This is a high-impact role based out of our Toronto, Canada office, reporting to the Director, Finance & Controller.

  • Technical Expertise: Possesses a deep understanding of processes and controls, with a focus on working collaboratively with Sales, Services and Finance. 

Here’s What You’ll be Doing:

  • Establishing and sustaining processes that enhance visibility and accountability around the processing of standard and non-standard customer payments, by ensuring consistency across systems and operations.
  • Finding opportunities to streamline and automate processes to compile and analyze information from various sources and systems, while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the accounting records. This will be facilitated by partnering with Sales, Accounting and IT teams to refine processes for revenue recognition and reporting.
  • Collaborating with Sales and Customer Success leadership to ensure there is clear visibility of the contract pipeline and to ensure it aligns with financial goals. Ensure all contract opportunities are vetted, onboarded and reported on in a centralized repository. Working closely with the Publisher payments team to integrate processes to align with the monthly financial reporting close process.
  • Building and maintaining dashboards for all custom agreements to ensure the accuracy of the administration of the relevant contract terms by Index.
  • Continuously monitoring specific revenue share metrics with a good understanding of Index-specific key performance indicators and how they can be impacted.
  • Completing the timely review of monthly reconciliations of both standard and non-standard contractual arrangements between Index and the Buy/Sell-side to ensure that adjustments and payments are accurately processed for payment.
  • Monitoring and reporting on adjustments monthly, and investigate and resolve any discrepancies and unusual trends as they arise.

Here's What You Need:

  • 6+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, ideally with a mix of public accounting (Big Four preferred) and industry experience 
  • CPA designation or equivalent strong accounting background 
  • Experience completing revenue accounting in a scaled, high-growth environment 
  • Deep understanding of processes and controls, with a focus on working collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Sales, Services and Finance. 
  • Proven leadership ability - leading, managing, or mentoring accounting teams
  • Strong analytical and data storytelling skills. You’re comfortable creating dashboards and KPIs that drive strategic decisions, and can present and share data in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce, and data visualization tools such as Looker or similar BI platforms.
  • A deep understanding of how to align accounting processes with business outcomes in a global, fast-evolving company.
