THE TEAM

You will join our Development team, responsible for designing, producing, and maintaining our autonomous mobile robots - arculees.. You will be a part of a cross-functional, agile, international, and distributed workforce, creating the best possible experience for our users.

RESPONSIBILITIES

At arculus the Mechanical Engineer, together with the team, conceptualize, design, and develop mechanical systems for autonomous mobile robots within a team of mechanical, electronic and software engineers in an agile project environment. Your role will involve developing, optimising, analyzing, and validating functionality/durability of mechanical systems for autonomous mobile robots.Your tasks will include: 

  • Develop mechanical and mechatronic systems that meet the requirements driven by product management and product maintenance.

  • Design product hardware from concepts and bring to series production.

  • 3D CAD design with a focus on design for manufacturing and cost optimization.

  • Create 2D and 3D production data as well as support the production department with assembly instructions.

  • Use FEM analysis and analytical techniques to solve complex structural and mechatronic problems, prove design feasibility and ensure product safety.

  • Aid in the production of verification and validation documentation required for CE certification of autonomous mobile robots.

  • Regularly present and discuss engineering topics clearly within a multidisciplinary robotics team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor or Master in Mechanical Engineering or similar.

  • Advanced proficiency in CAD (SOLIDWORKS 3D or similar 3D-CAD software).

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Strong mathematical skills and understanding of robotic physics. 

  • Experience with supplier coordination.

  • Experience with product conceptualization and development.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing methods and steel construction.

DESIRED SKILLS

  • At least 3 years of experience developing automated robots or a similar position

  • Professional product data management systems (example Solidworks PDM).

  • Professional experience in the field of simulation, especially with ANSYS or similar FEM simulation software is beneficial.

  • Experience with MATLAB Simscape Multibody or similar Multi-body dynamics software is beneficial.

  • Entire product development lifecycle.

  • Agile project environment experience.

  • Sheet metal forming, welding, and machining
