Media Director, Strategy

As the Media Director, you are responsible for the management, leadership and evolution of the online media strategy for a group of Critical Mass’ accounts. This includes, but is not limited to, ecommerce initiatives, online media and promotional support, mobile marketing, search marketing, online advertising production and both brand and direct marketing in order to maximize client business / marketing objectives. Your role largely strategic oversight with some tactical input and relationship building 

You will:

  • Lead the development, execution, and presentation of digital media plans (inclusive of direct & programmatic buys), and ensure accountability to timelines and goals
  • Challenges the norm and seeks out innovative approaches to execution media across digital partners/platforms
  • Takes nothing at face value and pushes partners to elevate and innovate programs creating first-to-market experiences
  • Analyze historical and current campaign results to optimize learning and ensure continuous improvement
  • Ensure partner communication, RFP process, plan negotiations and proposals are strategic and match accomplish the brief from the planning/strategy team
  • Participate in client presentations and provide detailed insight into digital recommendations
  • Lead Associate Directors, Supervisors, Senior Planners, Planners, and Associate Planners in buy execution and career development
  • Work with Investment Leads and the Digital Director’s team to devise complementary digital strategies inclusive direct & programmatic buys
  • Oversee client/planning team requests, plan changes, and guide development of digital marketplace POVs
  • Facilitate activation team communication with digital planning team to ensure digital plans are on strategy and budget
  • Partner with Marketing Science to analyze campaigns and recommend optimizations to maximize campaign performance
  • Maintain an innovation mindset to ensure that plans capitalize on emerging digital trends
  • Lead processes for in-depth digital audience analysis including analyzing site information and demographics particular to client needs
  • Build and maintain relationships with media publishers and internal agency counterparts
  • Demonstrate problem solving and intervention when necessary
  • Knowledge-sharing with all team members for best practices
  • Active role in future recruiting efforts, including interviewing, hiring, and training

 

You have:

  • Bachelors degree in Advertising, Marketing, Business Administration, or Communications; or equivalent professional work experience
  • 10+ years of related work experience; inclusive of digital media buying and programmatic
  • 5+ years of team management experience and accountability
  • Strong mathematic and analytical skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills, as well as strong attention to detail
  • Expertise of media consumptions habits across YouTube, CTV, OLV, Digital Audio, Digital Display, and Social
  • Expertise in the principles of marketing and advertising, as well as expertise of media concepts and terms, creative and budget requirements
  • Technical expertise with DSP (DV360, TTD, etc) Prisma, DV, IAS, DCM, and Microsoft Suite, and training others how to use them
  • Detail oriented, have exceptional organizational skills and multi-tasking capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written skills and is comfortable presenting to audiences both in-person and remote
  • Collaborative and forward-thinking
  • Positive energy and a team player who can live CM value
  • Experience in automotive a plus

Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a number of factors that include, but aren’t limited to, a candidate’s experience and skills relative to the scope and responsibilities of the position. For current CM employees, tenure will also be a consideration.Salary Range$155,000—$170,000 USD
