We are currently recruiting an Operations Manager for our new Compounding Lab in Pittson, PA! This leader will be hands-on in a start-up environment and will build and maintain relationships with hourly associates, managers, carrier partners, vendors, other FC teams and various departments in the company. This individual will be someone who likes dealing with ambiguity, change, and enjoys getting into the details to drive improvements every single day. 

What you'll do: 

  • Follow and ensure all safety and USP guidelines for preparation of compounded medications as described in Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Provide a healthy and safe work environment for associates working in the compounding laboratory.
  • Direct Compounding Laboratory supervisory personnel to achieve prescribed objectives, including timely processing of customer orders while maintaining the highest possible quality and lab efficiencies. 
  • Ensure that all key performance indicators are on target for the operation, such as batches per hour, throughput, and quality/safety metrics are being met.
  • Lead and supervise a team of Area Managers and Operations Leads 
  • Leverage the Area Managers by sourcing and cultivating ideas, and rolling them into the creation of improvement plans for the functional area 
  • Mentor, train and develop Area Managers for career progression and learning 
  • Ability to develop and share best practices across the shifts and network 
  • Build a positive team dynamic that encourages all employees in the compounding lab to provide feedback and lead change within the facility, adapt to the constantly evolving business, and stay focused on the customer experience 
  • Drive continuous improvement to safety, quality, cost, and delivery while growing and expanding capabilities within the compounding lab. 

 

What You'll Need: 

  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University or Equivalent Experience 
  • 5+ years of management experience in fulfillment center/warehouse operations; prefer retail/e-commerce experience 
  • At least 4 years of management experience in Receiving, Inventory Control, Order Fulfillment and effectively leading large groups of hourly employees
  • Experience with building or improving inventory management, order management, and warehouse management systems and processes
  • Excitement for working in a start-up environment with high level of ambiguity and change
  • Strong project management and continuous improvement skills
  • Customer service obsession, with willingness to go above and beyond to satisfy customer needs
  • Effective communicator and leader for employees, direct reports, cross-functional teams and executive leadership
  • Proven track record to quickly adapt and drive the right results using data
  • The highest levels of integrity and ethics
  • Must be flexible to work weekends and Position may require travel 
  • Ability to operate a variety of equipment including compounding devices (grinders, mixers and homogenizers), capsule machines (including pill counters, tampers), software and standard laboratory equipment (including sterilizers, measuring tools, etc.).
  • Compounding and/or laboratory experience required
  • Familiarity with USP <795>, <797>, and upcoming <800> guidelines for the preparation of compounded medications.
  • Compounding may be exposed to chemicals used in the preparation of compounds (some are classified as hazardous and/or toxic by the National Institute for Safety and Health and special safety precautions must be taken when working with these chemicals).

Bonus: 

  • E-Commerce experience 
  • Certification and/or experience in Lean Six Sigma and/or Green Belt certification 

 

 Physical requirements:

  • Must have visual acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Required to lift at least 25 pounds.
  • Must be capable to stand for long periods of time.
  • Technicians will work in a variety of positions and locations such as sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and walking; for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE for long periods of time when required.
  • Required to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
