At HelloFresh, our mission is to change the way people eat – forever. Italy and Spain are growing fast and need a strong local HR backbone to support their operations and ensure a seamless employee experience. That’s why we’re looking for a People Operations Manager to join our People Team.

Location: Milan, with regular travel to Barcelona

The role

You will be the go-to person for all HR administrative and operational activities across Italy and Spain (approx. 60 employees combined). This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring smooth, compliant, and timely execution of all people-related processes. You’ll work in close coordination with our central HR teams and external payroll providers, with a primary base in Milan and regular collaboration with our Barcelona office.

What you’ll do

You’ll manage day-to-day HR operations in both markets, including:

  • Own and manage payroll processes, in partnership with external providers (e.g. data input, validation, and coordination)
  • Handle all employment documentation (contracts, amendments, certifications, etc.)
  • Administer employees onboarding and offboarding processes end-to-end
  • Maintain accurate and updated data in our HRIS
  • Ensure compliance with local labour laws in both countries
  • Collaborate with the central People team and Shared Services for smooth execution of global processes
  • Coordinate with local office managers to ensure smooth employee experience
  • Be the point of contact for employee inquiries and support local managers on operational HR topics
What you’ll bring
  • 3–5 years of experience in HR administration / operations, ideally in a fast-paced or international environment
  • Min. Bachelors with excellent grades in HR/Organizational Development, Psychology, Business or another related field of study
  • Strong understanding of Italian labor law and of Spanish HR regulations (or strong interest in developing this knowledge)
  • Proficiency with HRIS tools (e.g. Workday, Betterworks, JetHR) and Google Workspace
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, multi-tasking ability with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally, in a high-paced environment
  • High level of trustworthiness and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Fluency in Italian, Spanish, and English is required
