This is a unique opportunity to join the team at Scale Space, a joint venture between Imperial College London (a top-10 global university) and Blenheim Chalcot (the UK's leading digital venture builder).

With daily exposure to Blenheim Chalcot, Imperial College, and community teams, this role offers highly-capable and ambitious operators an opportunity to support a complex, and profitable, business through its next phase of growth and expansion - including design of appropriate target operating models, business process ownership and optimisation, and team management and professional development.

About Scale Space:

Scale Space is a scaleup community, providing access to the people, services and space businesses need to succeed. Scale Space provides bespoke laboratory and office space to support the R&D and commercialisation activities of knowledge-intensive companies. It provides a home for businesses to scale alongside Imperial's world-leading academics, allowing entrepreneurs and researchers to share ideas and turn scientific discoveries into new products and services.

The Pioneer Programme:

This role is part of the BC Pioneer Programme; a portfolio-wide community and learning & development programme built exclusively for the future leaders of our ventures and scale-ups. You will have a tangible impact on a business going through a phase of market expansion.

Alongside your role, you will undertake a 15-month RedTeam L&D programme, giving you access to learning materials, training, and experts to help you set up your own career adventure. This approach is at the heart of the Pioneer programme vision, and both Scale Space and the RedTeam are committed to working with you to help you excel.

Duties:

  • Identify, establish, and build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders (Imperial College, Blenheim Chalcot) and relevant external organisations.

  • Work with the Scale Space team to deliver and support a series of regular, meaningful events for members, focusing on innovation, collaboration, and networking.

  • Support members by connecting them with key contacts within Imperial College, Blenheim Chalcot, and other partners to address their business needs and scaling challenges.

  • Proactively identify opportunities to drive member engagement and satisfaction through events, communications, and new initiatives, while rolling up your sleeves to get things done.

  • Represent Scale Space externally to potential members, partners, and the wider innovation ecosystem.

  • Take part in the Pioneer Programme's informal learning and networking events across the Blenheim Chalcot portfolio.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A passion for technology and disruption, with experience in or ambitions to build your own venture in the future.

  • A genuine curiosity for R&D companies, from life sciences and engineering to digital ventures.

  • An outgoing, friendly, proactive, and approachable personality.

  • Emotional intelligence and be compassionate and supportive in nature.

  • Evidence of the ability to be a self-starter and adapt to multiple roles in a high-pace environment.

  • A passion for building your network and the capacity to work well with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, including university partners and C-suite executives.

  • Minimum 2 years' work experience.

  • Minimum 2.1 undergraduate degree (in any discipline).

Our culture is inclusive, modern, friendly, smart, and innovative - we seek to employ bright, positive-thinking individuals with a can-do attitude. Our people enjoy challenging themselves to be the best at what they do - if that sounds like you, you’ll fit right in!

The Process:
